For this reason, many popes, cardinals, and bishops have been interred at St. Peter's since the Early Christian period. As a work of architecture, it is regarded as the greatest building of its age. Tour delivers what it promises, but watch out for Saturday crowds
Before saying anything, the tour delivered on what it said it was. Our tour guide, Renata, was knowledgeable about the subject matter, attentive to answering any of our questions thoroughly and she seemed to be a very nice person. What I hadn't expected (and I probably should have), were the crowds on a Saturday afternoon. The tour through the Vatican Museums is long (close to 2 hours of the entire 3 hour tour). I'm guessing that a weekday tour, instead of a Saturday afternoon tour, would have taken less time due to it being less crowded. Once through the Vatican Museums, being able to enter the Sistine Chapel and after that, St. Peter's Basilica, was amazing! Our tour guide explained that while inside the Sistine Chapel, she's not permitted to talk to us through out headsets, so she gave us a lot of useful information before we went inside so that we'd know what we were looking at. If you have the time, this is a very good tour. And if you're lucky enough to get tour guide Renata, it will be a great experience.
