Along with the wondrous plants this garden holds, the VanDusen Botanical Garden also houses a significant sculpture collection that featuring artists such as Bill Reid, David Marshall, and Sebastian. The International Sculpture Symposium, held here in 1975, created 11 original works to begin the permanent collection and it has expanded since then. For the architecture lovers, the Garden's multi-award winning LEED Platinum Visitor Centre was named Most Sustainable Building of the Year in 2014. Shaped like an orchid when viewed from above, its organic lines echo the way nature and conservation have been considered at every turn. VanDusen has something for everyone to enjoy! Van Dusen was a lovely green spot to visit in Vancouver. Welcoming helpful staff who even gave us bird spotting tips. We enjoyed strolling round the gardens and the variety of plants and trees makes it very special.
Today was the perfect day to visit the VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Sunny and in the upper 60’s. The gardens were truly spectacular, especially seeing many interesting and unusual plants, trees and so much more!
This garden is magnificently beautiful! Nature is respected and highlighted! We really loved it! You really must visit it if you are on vacation in Vancouver
The Van Dusen Botanical Gardens are outstanding. We did not have a tour but had no difficulty with maps upon arrival traversing the entire property in two hours. Immaculately maintained; immense, diverse plantings over what seem to be hundreds of acres. A definite Vancouver gem.
The gardens were incredible. We really enjoyed the different areas including the maze. If you like gardens, like we do, the botanical gardens are worth while.
Amazing gardens!! Must see if in the Vancouver area. Monkey Puzzle trees, Hydrangeas, Roses, Giant Sequoias, flowers from around the world. I'm not much of a green thumb but I totally enjoyed Van Dusen gardens.

VanDusen Botanical Garden was one of the highlights of our visit to Vancouver. I visited with my husband and my 73-year-old father, and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. One thing we appreciated most was that the garden can be explored at your own pace and comfort level. Visitors can stay on the well-maintained paved paths, making it accessible for those who prefer easier walking, while others can venture onto smaller paths and discover more secluded corners of the garden. The variety of plant life is truly impressive. We especially enjoyed the Japanese maples surrounding the lily-covered pond, which created a picture-perfect scene. Another favorite was a striking tree with moss-covered branches and vivid green foliage that looked almost otherworldly. Looking up through the canopy of broad, bright-green leaves framed by blooming rhododendrons was another memorable moment and one of the many opportunities for beautiful photography. We had limited hours to spend in Vancouver, and I have no regrets that they were spent here.
Nice and lovely garden to visit if you want a rest from the chaos in Downtown, specifically Canada Place and dont want to go all the way to Buchard in Victoria. Nice place to visit and then stopped on the way back to Grenville Island for some chaos again.
Simply stunning ! The gardens are beautiful and superbly maintained. Lots of colour, shade and scent from the flowers.
