Visit to the Upper Belvedere in Vienna to forget, not because of the beauty of the site and the works, but because of the absolutely inappropriate manners of the surveillance staff. At the entrance, we were not warned to put away our backpacks as happened at other sites, and during the visit, some guards were all over us as if we were criminals; even a middle-aged guard started yelling, while constantly inviting us to be quiet, inviting us to go outside, and aware that we would not understand her language, neither English nor Italian. It is truly disappointing that in such an important place of culture, there are no proper manners toward the tourist who, among other things, pays significant amounts to visit these beauties where grace, empathy, and good manners must reign supreme.
We are very sorry to hear that your visit to the Upper Belvedere was affected by your experience with the security staff. We understand how uncomfortable it can feel to be treated in an unfriendly manner, especially when visiting such an important cultural attraction. The museum’s security staff and on-site procedures are managed directly by the venue. However, we take your feedback seriously and will share your concerns with the relevant team for their attention. We hope that, despite this disappointing experience, you were still able to enjoy the beauty of the Belvedere and its impressive collection. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
Beautiful setting, historic buildings and nice green space. Despite going not long after it opened for the day it was still really busy. As is understandable, people congregate around Gustav Klimts 'the kiss'. This means it is hard to enjoy that painting in peace. Is timed entry slots and you need to book in advance. Under 19s get entry for free.
The Kiss is an exceptional piece of work and truly worth seeing in person. Pictures, while good, can't do it justice. So, visiting the Belvedere Palace was definitely worth the time and money. Seeing Klimpt's other piece have me a new perspective. Additionally, the palace itself and the grounds surrounding it were delightful.
The audio guide was very easy to use. It provided a lot of information. Printing or having your tickets on your phone simplified the entry. The art speaks for itself.
Ticket delivery will be on WhatsApp from a third party you may not recognize. Took a little bit to figure out that what I thought was a scam message on Whats App was actually my tickets and a brief exchange with the third party ticket supplier I got the tickets just in time.
Not to buy a ticket from Viator. The ticket that was sent to me after payment disappeared and the day before the experience, I got an email to print a ticket that the Museum did print for me but was a completely different document. The museum was gracious to allow me entry anyway because they believed I was duped.
We are sorry to hear about your experience. As per our records, the valid e-ticket was shared with you after booking via the platform/WhatsApp. Sometimes system or email display issues may cause confusion, but the original ticket provided is always valid for entry. We are glad the museum allowed you to enter and complete your visit. Please note that we are always available on chat or WhatsApp to assist immediately if any issue arises before your visit. We truly regret any confusion caused and appreciate your feedback.
Great collection of period pieces and styles. Beautiful building. Taxi stand at entrance. Avoid 2nd party ticket sales.
This is a fraudulent listing. Claims to send an e-ticket after purchase which will never come. They will talk in circles and tell you to send certain information via WhatsApp and then say that you need to pick another day but really there just is no ticket for the museum entry. I have yet to get a refund from the Viator app and was unable to go to the museum. Do not buy!
We are very sorry to hear about your experience and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
