Description
Our goal is to give you an authentic Norwegian hiking experience with traditional tasty food specialities like our famous Reindeer Stew.
Experience Trolltunga almost alone, without long queues. Enjoy sunset and sunrise in the high mountains of Hardangervidda National Park. Relax around campfire before you go to sleep in our top notch Fjällräven tents with warm sleeping mats.
We also do small detours which most hikers walk by, like a beautiful located waterfall where we have a scenic lunch and our sunset rock Preikestolen (the original) with the best view of the Ringedalsvatnet lake and valley. Our guides have walked in these mountains since childhood and love to show you the best of what this hike have to offer.

Amazing tour at Trolltunga with best guides
We had such a great time with Trolltunga Adventures. Everything was so well organized and it just felt like we were having a great adventure with a great group of people.
A big thank you to Jim and Julia. They were amazing from the beginning and really went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying every moment. You can honestly see that they love what they do, and that makes a huge difference.
The whole experience, the camp, the views, the atmosphere and especially the people made this one of the highlights of our trip to Norway.
We had a lot of fun, laughed a lot and made some really great memories. Thanks guys — we’ll definitely remember this one!

Amazing way to experience Trolltunga
Whether you’re newer to outdoor adventures or have lots of experience, the Trolltunga Adventures overnight experience is WELL worth the cost! I do a lot of backpacking back home, but decided to treat myself to a more catered experience while in Norway so that I could still camp without having to bring all my overnight gear overseas. I was a bit worried that the tour would be more for those with zero experience - and while the TA team definitely can handle that, too, I found that even for someone with more knowledge it was still an amazing time. The guides for my group were Lovisa and Gustav - both were fantastic! Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They shared lots of interesting facts about the landscape, flora and fauna, etc. The camping area that Trolltunga Adventures uses is spectacular… you get to visit Trolltunga on the way to camp AND on the way back out, the tents have beautiful views, and you feel very secluded and private. At camp you can also take an extra side hike up to a different dramatic outcropping (the original Preikestolen) that provides extra views and opportunities for fun photos and memories. The provided food is delicious and there is plenty of it. The tents and sleeping pads and bags provided are comfortable and even on a windy and rainy night I slept well and stayed dry. Trolltunga is a popular hike - with good reason - but doing the overnight option really allows you to sidestep some of the traffic and have an experience that feels a bit more authentic and closer to nature. Even the places we stopped for snacks or lunch were off the main track, allowing for a more private feeling. I would highly recommend using Trolltunga Adventures!

Spectacular hike and beautiful site for camping
This hike was just spectacular and the campground was stunning. We do a lot of hiking in Canada and we still found the scenery to be jaw dropping! The guides were great!

Read the terms before you book
Read the Terms & Conditions carefully before booking. They state that if a tour is cancelled due to extreme weather or other circumstances outside the company's control, no refund or compensation is provided. That became relevant to us at the end of August 2026, when our overnight hike was cancelled because of strong winds. We accepted a day hike instead, so that we would get something for what we had paid, and luckily the company did refund the price difference between the two tours. This only worked because we had a couple of spare days. If you are on a fixed itinerary, rescheduling is not much use to you, and under their terms there is no refund.
What we had particularly wanted was the group experience. Instead the departure went ahead with just the two of us, something we were not consulted about, and only learned afterwards had been a deliberate exception to the three-participant minimum stated in their own terms. Some people would prefer a private hike, but we had specifically booked the group experience and were looking forward to sharing the day with other travellers.
What made it worse was that our guide told us at the meeting point that he had woken up feeling unwell and did not know whether he would be able to do the hike. We asked whether we could cancel and be refunded instead, and were told no. He was kind and did his best, but it was unfair to put us in that position.
Afterwards we set all of this out to the company and asked for half the day-hike price back. They acknowledged that things should have been communicated better and said they would review their procedures, but declined to refund anything.
My view is that as long as you have proper waterproof and warm clothing and decent hiking boots, Trolltunga is very manageable on your own.

Experience of a Lifetime!
Booking was easy. Communication with company was efficient, responsive, clear... patient with my many questions.
Our guide Max was only 20, but he knew what he was doing and was patient with us as our ages ranged from 68-75! Max was great as we talked about Norwegian life, culture, and Trolltunga!!!
Of course, it's not cheap. This was a private overnight hike n camp. Yet at the same time, our entire group felt it was an experience of a lifetime!!!
Not only did we hike this challenging trail and earned ourselves an epic photo on the Trolltunga, but the overnight camping allowed us to have almost the whole wilderness to ourselves! (There were a few other campers who tented far away.) The serenity, silence, killer views, reindeer stew, sunrise n sunset stillness...no words can do justice!
Thank you, Trolltunga Adventure, for an awesome, awesome experience!

Great trek - do overnight!
Professional company, responsive over email before the trek. Great experience, friendly and knowledgeable guides, good camp (this redefines what a "lake view" should be).
Strongly advise overnight as 1) 2 chances to see trolltunga (day 1 was foggy/rainy), 2) No wait to step on the rock - most day hikers are gone by the time you get to Trolltunga (and haven't arrived yet early morning...).
Main improvement opportunity in my view is on food, which was insufficient (small sandwich for lunch, served after 3pm) - salty snacks/biscuits were offered regularly, but this can't be a substitute for a proper meal. Dinner and breakfast were good, but again could have been more substantial given the physical effort of a 20-km hike.
Overall, great experience and well-run company - if you have a chance, do it!

Must be booked!
Sleeping overnight was what really added to this fantastic hike. A cool camp with panoramic views and the opportunity to experience Trolltunga several times in different light and weather. Great guides Joshua and Noah who really did everything for us!! Can really recommend this tour for someone who wants to have Trolltunga to themselves for a while.

Overnight stay at Trolltunga
Fantastic hike with the best guides Jushua & Noah. Besides being great guides, they are fantastic chefs 🥰 The food was very good, the view from our nice tents was great, and getting to be on Trolltunga alone in the morning was so luxurious. The experience is a memory for life.
Best rating for Trolltunga Adventures
As a first-time participant in a guided hiking tour, I booked the 2-day "Trolltunga Classics" overnight tour with Trolltunga Adventure.
Logistics & Parking Tip
If you are driving up to P2 Skjeggedal, you don’t need to stress about arriving extremely early. Parking spots are reserved for tour participants—just let the point of contact know in advance, and they will guide you directly to your spot.
The Hike & Exceptional Guides
I scheduled this hike for the day after arriving in Norway. Combined with jet lag and slight under-preparation, my body struggled to cope with the terrain, and I began experiencing severe muscle cramps in both legs. My guides, Julia and Theotec, were incredibly attentive and supportive throughout . Julia immediately gave me electrolytes, but the true turning point was when Theotec sharply noticed mybackpack was far too heavy (my mistake for overpacking unnecessary items). He kindly offered to carry my heaviest gear, and almost instantly, the cramps never returned.
I am deeply grateful for Theotec’s sharpness, kindness, and genuine compassion—he truly saved my hike. Thank you, Theotec:)
Food, Accommodation & Tips
My advice to future hikers: pack ONLY the necessary . Proper clothing, hiking poles, and plenty of water - you can choose to collect the river water in between the hike and man, they were refreshing !! The tour structure allows for plenty of rest breaks stocked with snacks and delicious meals: a great sandwich for lunch, comforting reindeer stew for dinner, and a warm, nutty breakfast porridge that I would easily rate 10 out of 10. While the hike itself was tough, the group dynamics made a world of difference. Everyone was warm, supportive, and kept each other motivated.
Pros & Cons
Pros: Seamless, effortless experience with zero navigation required. You get to visit hidden spots, learn rich local history (including details on geography and hydrodam developments), stay at a secure, well-equipped campsite, and enjoy a far more relaxed experience than trying to rush the entire trail in a single day.
Cons: Having to maintain the group's target pace and schedule was physically demanding. At times, it felt mentally stressful worrying about slowing down the rest of the company.
Final Verdict
Highly recommended if you want a complete, beautifully guided overnight adventure on Trolltunga with guides who genuinely care about your safety and experience.
