Josh was a great guide. Time flew by learning about this sad history. I enjoyed the context he gave beyond what you hear in the documentaries.
This tour is a must for any Munich visit. It must not be missed. Why? Josh brings Munich to life. He shines a light on recent history’s darkest moment. Not only does he answer “how did Hitler and the Nazis come to power and execute their evil plans,” but he makes it an incredibly engaging, clarifying, and provocative story. And he does it with a history professor’s professionalism and the story telling ability of a master novelist. It’s the most educational, engaging and enjoyable tour I’ve taken.
This tour was very good and very insightful. Josh, our guide, was passionate, articulate, and enthusiastic to share about his city and his country and the horrible things that happened during WorldWar II. My son was very happy we too the tour as he has been studying history at university. I would highly recommend it (and Josh) for anyone who wants to not just learn a little more, but also stand in the places where it happened.
Josh is such a knowledgeable and passionate guide. He is also interested in his tour group and takes the time to meet and greet you all individually. We learned so much more than what is written in history books. We would 100% recommend this tour with Josh.
Josh was great very informative and a good sense of humor, saw some very historical places was glad I did it.
Josh was extremely insightful and as a historian made me think deeply about what I previously thought may have led to the rise of the Nazi party. Me and my brother have not stopped talking about the tour over many beers since. If you want to know about the dark history of this wonderful city. Josh is your man. He pulls no punches and is refreshing in his honesty on how his nation succumbed to radicalism.
Great 2.5 hour tour around Munich! Aileen was a great guide. We recommend this as we learned several new things!
I do not recommend this tour. Our guide, Josh, used a rumpled, sloppy bunch of black and white photos. Why photos? I wanted to see the actual locations in Munich. I could have gone to the library instead--for free. Also, he lectured us. Our guide was rude, telling us that the info we had regarding WWII came from the History Channel and YouTube and that it was wrong. That was insulting. He knew nothing about our views or our knowledge of history.
Had a great time learning about the history of Munich from someone who took it very serious. Our guide Josh gave a very informative and interesting tour giving us clear rules that allowed us Americans to respect our guide, the information and then city of Munich. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
Josh was a fascinating tour guide and knows his stuff! I learned about the rise of the Nazi Party in Munich and got to see where it all happened. Very interesting! It was an aspect of WWII I knew very little about.
