Surf Lesson + Beach day in Jaco Beach!

I very much recommend doing a lesson here while in Jaco!! We had an absolutely unforgettable experience with Costa Rica Surf School! From the moment we arrived, the entire team made our family feel welcome, comfortable, and right at home. The instructors were phenomenal with my son! Patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic, which made him feel confident and excited in the water. To top it off, they even convinced me to paddle out and give surfing a try, providing just the right balance of gentle coaching and high-energy encouragement. Catching those waves together was an incredible highlight for us. What truly set them apart was how far they went above and beyond for our entire family. While lessons were underway, they provided beach toys to keep the little ones happily entertained on the sand, making the whole outing completely stress-free. Their warmth, thoughtfulness, and genuine hospitality made this one of the best adventures of our trip. If you are visiting Costa Rica and looking for top-tier instruction paired with an authentic, family-friendly vibe, book with them immediately. Five stars all around! Can't wait to make it back :)

Honestly it was a few years ago that I surfed with Josh and I just rediscovered his business card! It was just such an awesome experience and I remember it fondly. My first time surfing— it was a blast. Safe, fun, good communication, and Josh worked tirelessly to make sure I was getting onto those waves! I don’t know how he has as much energy as he does! I wish I could click my heels and be there right now! Highly recommend, so glad to see he is still out there!

I had a great time with my friends at this surf school the lesson is quick and they teach you well. It wasn’t too expensive and the outcome of me being able to surf by myself is great.

Josh and his crew were exceptional! I I brought my two nephews to Jaco and we met Josh on the beach! They taught my nephews how to surf and they got up first try! This was their favorite part of their trip to Costa Rica!! Josh was so accommodating and took care of my boys! We feel like we met a new friend and everything about it was a wonderful experience! We will be going back and this will be a big part of our trip from now on! I would recommend this to everyone! I can’t express how much I appreciate them and how wonderful of an experience it has been! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! The entire team at this school is outstanding. Our 9 year old son's first time and the teams efforts made it very enjoyable! Great job! Highly recommended!

I had a great experience with Josh and Dennis. They were able to get me to stand up on the board within the lesson time. I could use their board and keep practicing until I was done. I later brought my family to their beach for the day. Dennis was a great instructor that made sure I was safe and ready for the next step. The south side of Jaco is better for surfing and swimming. We enjoyed exploring the beach at low tide.

We absolutely loved our surf lesson with Surf School Aloha Josi in Jacó! We were a family of five (2 adults and 3 teenagers), and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The team is extremely professional, welcoming, and warm. From the moment we arrived, we felt confident and well taken care of. The instructors are very friendly, patient, and provide excellent coaching, no matter your level. They stay in the water with us for the entire lesson, which makes the experience very safe and reassuring. Thanks to their guidance, we all managed to catch several waves and had so much fun! A professional photography service is also available (for an additional fee), which allowed us to leave with wonderful memories of this experience. We highly recommend Surf School Aloha Josi without hesitation to anyone or any family who wants to learn how to surf in Jacó.
