Itinerary
Pena Palace is not just colorful — it’s expressive. We approach Pena as a viewpoint, a vision, and a moment, focusing on: -The dramatic setting -The meaning behind its design -The panoramic views that make visitors fall silent You’ll have time to explore and take in the landscape without feeling hurried. (Interior visit optional depending on ticket choice and conditions.)
In the heart of Sintra village, we slow the pace and let the town reveal itself. This is where royal history, daily life, and quiet charm meet. You’ll have time to wander the narrow streets, admire the Sintra National Palace from the outside, or enjoy a gentle walk toward the gardens of Quinta da Regaleira (entry not included). For many guests, this moment is about atmosphere — sitting down for a coffee, watching the town move, and tasting one of Sintra’s iconic pastries, the Travesseiro or Queijada, while taking it all in.
As we drive through the rolling hills outside Sintra, you’ll notice the sandy vineyards of Colares, home to one of Portugal’s rarest wines. Grown on ancient ungrafted Ramisco vines, these wines carry a unique character, elegant, structured, and full of history. Even from the window, it’s easy to imagine the stories and traditions behind this hidden gem of a region.
Standing at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, is not about checking a box. It’s about understanding Portugal’s historical relationship with the unknown — the Atlantic, exploration, and distance. We allow time to feel the space, the wind, and the meaning of the place.
We finish the day in Cascais, an elegant coastal town where the pace naturally slows. Enjoy free time to: -Walk the marina -Sit by the ocean -Share a traditional lunch or dessert. It’s a gentle landing after a full, meaningful day.

This tour was perfect if you are trying to explore the surrounding cities of Lisbon in a very easy way. Our tour guide, Bernardo, was the absolute best! Not only did he know everything but he made us feel like we were locals! This tour gives you the knowledge of the cities and a ton of free time to explore on your own. I HIGHLY recommend booking this tour, and if possible, requesting Bernardo!

Rodrigo is an exceptional guide. He contacted us on WhatsApp before the trip and provided specific guidance on the preparations. During the trip he explained every single detail about the area, history, gardens, trees and minute details about the art work. He was flexible with the schedule and very punctual on time. I would recommend Rodrigo for everyone.

We had the absolute best time exploring Portugal with Rodrigo! Our trip felt truly customized and perfectly paced, with careful thought behind every detail. Rodrigo speaks fluent English, and he is as professional and knowledgeable as he is witty. His genuine passion for tourism shines through—he’s definitely not just repeating a script like a human robot! He is patient, engaging, and brought Pena Palace to life by guiding us through every corner with fascinating anecdotes. The entire experience felt like a warm, fun day out with an old friend showing off his hometown. After comparing almost every Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais tour on Viator, I can confidently say this one is a true hidden gem. No hassle, no hidden upsells, just a seamless and beautiful experience. It’s a memory I’ll hold dear whenever I think back on Portugal!

Totally worth it. We loved the trip and it was a very good decision to take the tour, even though we only had 3 days in Lisbon. I joined this tour as a solo traveller and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The small group size made it feel personal and relaxed, and it was a great way to meet other travellers without feeling like you were on a big, rushed tour. Our guide Rodrigo, was fantastic - super knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with. He shared so much interesting history and local insight while keeping the atmosphere light and entertaining throughout the trip. We visited Pena Palace, Sintra, Cape Roca and Cascais, every stop was well-paced and worth visiting. Rodrigo made the whole day seamless and memorable. If you're visiting Lisbon and want to see Sintra and the surrounding highlights, I'd highly recommend this tour!
Hello Emily! Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure having you on the tour, and I’m really glad you enjoyed the day with us. Thanks for bringing such great energy to the group, it was a pleasure showing you around Sintra. Safe travels back to Dubai, and I hope to see you again someday! Rodrigo :)
We absolutely loved this tour (2 adults, 2 teens) and are so glad we chose it instead of trying to explore on our own. From the moment Rodrigo picked us up, his enthusiasm and passion for Portugal’s history made the day incredibly engaging. He did a fantastic job explaining the country’s history and how it all connected to Sintra and Pena Palace, adding so much depth and meaning to everything we saw. His knowledge and expertise were invaluable, and he timed each stop perfectly, giving us just the right amount of free time to explore. The next two stops ended up being some of our favorites, and his recommendations for where to eat and shop were excellent. As an added bonus, Rodrigo is an amazing photographer! He captured some beautiful family photos that we’ll treasure for years to come. This tour was informative, well-paced, and so much more enjoyable because of the historical context Rodrigo shared throughout the day. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal!

It is a great way to see some of the smaller cities outside of Lisbon. I also loved how it is a very personal tour, it’s a better experience since it is a small group setting. I highly recommend!!!
