Wonderful and easy experience
Wow what an amazing experience . Well worth the money. We were there for quite a few hrs but worth every minute.
We have been doing a lot of sightseeing in Rome using a real person guide. To keep costs down slightly we chose an audio guide for the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel this was a mistake. We found an audio guide very difficult to follow as the directions were confusing as there weren’t any and not a lot of information at all . Also what is not made clear to someone that is not a local is you’re not getting Saint Peter‘s Basilica, you’re only getting the Vatican museums and sistine Chapel. We would’ve realised that they are different places ( but in ghe same area)but it was all under the umbrella of Vatican City. We thought that was included. Which was a disappointment. Good initial guide when meeting us to collect our tickets with nice directions so thank you for that though.
Hi Sarah, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you appreciated the welcome and assistance from our team. We’re sorry the audio guide did not meet your expectations. We also appreciate your comment regarding St. Peter’s Basilica and will continue working to make the inclusions of each experience as clear as possible.
Leo was amazing , he is our tour guide, very knowledgeable and sweet, had a great time , definitely would recommend
Fairly good experience. Tickets just get you in a shorter line and the audio guide is an overview of a few selected works of art.
Using the app for the program is a little cluncky. It doesn't give you exact instructions, instead you have to figure it out. The tour itself, So much to see and not enough time. It was said this is a 1.5 hour tour, I found that we were there for at least 5 hours.
I booked the fast track entry to the Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel. The official entry ticket is c.€20 but I paid £65 for the ticket + fast track. That is quite a mark up. However, the CityWonders staff were very efficient, and extremely helpful, charming and friendly. I was through the entry queue in less than 10 minutes. I would not hesitate to use CityWonders again. Excellent and trustworthy company with great staff.
The guide did not communicate the procedure for entry. They did not give me the ticket I needed for entry. When I presented my online barcode they wouldn't let me in. The guides were nowhere to be seen when I looked for them.
Dear Z528OYannk, We’re very sorry for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the meeting point and entry procedure. If you arrived at the meeting point on time, our guide should have accompanied you at the scheduled time for entry into the Vatican and provided you with the necessary tickets. Based on your description, it appears that you may not have been able to meet the guide at the scheduled time. Had you arrived on time, the guide would have provided your tickets and assisted you with the entry, so you should not have encountered this issue. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and any frustration it caused. We appreciate you sharing your experience, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve our communication and make the process clearer for our guests.
We only booked the skip-the-line audio tour guide ticket. Honest opinion - 84 € per person is not worth it. Vatican Museum ticket itself costs 25 €. Most disappointing was the audioguide, many rooms were not covered with the audio and where it had info, it was so very short overall basic info. We instead downloaded Rick Steves FREE Europe audioguide and enjoyed the tour without payed app and guidance. Skip-the-line ticket did work (you will get the ticket from tour company’s employee, which takes a bit time). For the Vatican Museum waiting line, we went accurately on the time we had on ticket and waited in a long-long line, which went fast, around 8 minutes to get in. Afternoon the line was in a shade, so no problem waiting.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re sorry the audio guide didn’t meet your expectations and that you felt the experience wasn’t worth the price. We’re glad the skip-the-line access worked well, and we appreciate your comments regarding the audio content. We’ll share your feedback with our team as we continue working to improve the experience. Thank you for joining us!
The self guided tour is clunky to use and does not follow you throughout the tour so you have to constantly try to figure out where you are and then select the correct audio tour.
Dear Dan_F, We sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the self-guided tour experience. We understand how inconvenient it is to have to repeatedly figure out your location and select the correct audio guide. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be shared with our team as we work to improve the experience for our guests.
