It is the most significant place to visit on Kefalonia. Surprisingly, there is a lake inside the cave with the most beautiful water. The cave itself is B-shaped with two halls separated with an island in the centre. The roof of the first hall caved in centuries ago letting sunlight filter in. The depth of the lake is 20 to 30 meters. When the sun is overhead, the sunlight hitting the turquoise-blue waters create a magical illusion and the whole Cave of Melissani suddenly feels lit with blue light.
The Cave of Drogarati is a must see attraction of Kefalonia. Discovered nearly 300 years ago, when a part fell into itself because of the powerful earthquake and thus created the current entrance. The Cave of Drogarati is located 3km from Sami at an altitude of 120 meters. The depth reaches 95m and the temperature is 18°C (64.4°F). It is considered one of the best caves in Greece and it is the only one with such a large room (Dimensions of 65m x 45m and 20m height) and most suitable for cave therapy. The Cave of Drogarati is alive since its creation is continuing since water drops are falling everywhere from the stalagmites. Don't disturb those drops from falling, since this has a major impact on the creation of the cave, which dates back over 100 million years! Imagine that a stalactite grows approximately one centimeter every hundred years. The big hall, decorated with stalactites and stalagmites, has excellent acoustics and is designed for concerts with a special platform.

We went to Myrtos beach and Melissani cave with Stacey and George. Stacey is a very kind guide who speaks a very fluent and understandable English. George was a professional driver of a modern and clean minivan. The trip was one of the best tours we attended in Kefalonia. It was well organised, comfortable and professional. Stacey told us stories about the island and from her experiences. It was interesting Myrtos beach is beautiful and we had plenty of time to swim in the huge waves. After, Stacey let us take some photos from above so we could have great photos too Very good quality/price ratio compared to other agencies. Highly recommended!

paid the money, bought an 18 euro taxi to the port, couldn’t find the boat so called them only to find out the trip was cancelled and they hadn’t told us.
Trip was canceled - so we went on our own and had a great time! There are not enough tourists on the island for a lot of trips to be running.
