Semi Private Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & Basilica Tour

Description
Timed entry to the Vatican Museums helps you avoid the long general admissions line and make the most of a three-hour Vatican visit. In a semi private group, follow an expert English-speaking guide through the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica when basilica access is available. Along the way, see highlights such as the Pio-Clementino Museum, Raphael Rooms, Borgia Apartments, Gallery of the Tapestries, and Gallery of Maps. The experience also includes the privileged Scala Regia passageway, available except on Wednesday mornings, for direct access into St. Peter’s Basilica. Great tour with Roberta! She was very knowledgeable and informative. Made the tour very worthwhile and an unforgettable experience on our Italy trip!
Our tour was the perfect size. Our guide was easy to understand and great at getting us right up to everything, the perks of an early tour! The microphone worked well, but the ear piece was hard to keep in. My other tours that had the smaller piece that went inside your ear seemed to stay better. Everything else was fabulous. I could have stayed in the museum all day!
Fun and informative! Would recommend to friends
Our guide took very good care when we got lost. She was very patient and helpful. She was very knowledgeable.
Malitca our guide was incredible with her knowledge and in communicating all the finer details. I was so interested to hear what she had to say next.
Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that Malitca made your Vatican experience so engaging with her knowledge and attention to detail. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with her. It’s wonderful to know her storytelling helped bring the history to life, and we hope to welcome you again soon!
We had an excellent time! Thank you for showing us around. There is so much to do that it would b easy possible to see everything that efficiently and fully without a guide such as yourself.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you had such an enjoyable Vatican experience. It's great to know your guide helped make such a vast and fascinating site easy to explore and appreciate. We hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!
Fabrizio our tour guide was amazing! I recommend him 1000%
Milisa was very knowledgable, entertaining and intelligent. She made the tour so enjoyable. Highlight of our trip.
Amazing. Very informative. Highly Recommended.
We took multiple tours with The Tour Guy and loved the others, but the Vatican/St. Peter's Basilica tour was a logistical mess. They booked us on a Wednesday morning knowing St. Peter's Basilica would be closed for the Papal Audience. They actually emailed us to move to the afternoon to fix it, which we accepted, but then their office moved us back to the morning anyway. Worse, their official confirmation email states the tour is 3 hours long. Because the Basilica was skipped, our guide ended the tour in under two hours (including security/bathroom breaks) and did not make up the time elsewhere, violating their own policy. I paid for a premium 3-hour combo tour and received a rushed 1.5-hour museum walk. I have submitted two emails and a web support ticket over the last seven days requesting a partial refund for the missing hour and missed landmark, but the company has completely ignored me. UPDATE: The Director of Customer Experience eventually reached out personally. They clarified that the schedule shuffling was due to group minimums, not the audience. They admitted the guide failed their standards by ending the tour early and failing to compensate for the Basilica closure. They have issued a partial refund and a future tour credit to resolve the issue. I appreciate the company ultimately taking accountability for the guide's mistake.
Hi John, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, and we are so glad to hear you enjoyed the other tours you booked with us. We are truly sorry for the frustration and confusion caused by the scheduling shifts and the shortened tour duration. That is certainly not the seamless, high-quality experience we strive to deliver for our travelers. While our team sometimes has to adjust tour times to meet group minimums, our guide should have ensured your time in the Vatican Museums was fully maximized to make up for the Basilica closure. We brought this directly to our Customer Experience Director and Paris Operations Manager to review what happened with your guide and prevent this communication breakdown moving forward. We are glad our Director of Customer Experience was able to connect with you directly to get this resolved and issue a resolution to make things right. We appreciate your patience and your honest feedback, which helps us continuously improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on another tour in the future.
