Dress up like a Viking! Use Your Imagination
We had such a great time at the museum. I really liked putting in the Headphones and listening to history at each stop. However, the best part was the dress up at the end. My spouse and I laughed for 10 minutes straight in our Viking outfits. So fun!

Avoid
Terrible value for money. 30 euros per person for a small room with some historical reconstructions. Audio guide (included) not in Italian. Tourist trap. Avoid

Fun with the Vikings
This is an interesting presentation of Viking history in Iceland. It's all pretty quick. If you listen to the complete audio guide message at each stop, your visit will last about 45-50 minutes. There's also a printed summary message at each stop, if you're in a hurry. The best part was at the end where you can try on Viking clothing and armor and handle various weapons - all for photographs.

Rich Cultural History
Possibly, sadly missed by most visitors to Reykjavik. It is located in an almost forgotten corner of the city, off the beaten track. Yet, it offers visitors, through an excellent audio guide (in a substantial variety of languages), a remarkable insight in the cultural development of Icelanders from the beginnings of when Vikings first discovered it.
A fantastic journey, with plenty of horror added if this is a genre you enjoy.

Really overpriced for very little
The museum is very, very small. While the wax figures are well done, that’s about it. It takes max 30 minutes and really is just one big room. Skip it and go to Perlan instead.

Really Interesting
Like everything in Iceland this was a bit expensive for a hours entertainment, but I did really enjoy it. The exhibits were really lifelike & you can dress up as a Viking if you wish. Lots of information about the early history of Iceland. Really interesting.

An outstanding exhibition of some of Iceland’s history.
This exhibition is well worth a visit. Our entrance ticket included an audio guide which shared the history of each display. The figures were all individually made with silicone using real people as moulds, they are outstanding.

Friendly and welcoming
The museum itself is a good idea and it was an interesting visit. Maybe a little small considering how expensive it is but what really made it worthwhile was the lovely chat we had with the two young girls working there! One of them had even worked at the Jorvik Viking centre, a similar museum where I live. It’s a small world!
There’s a dress up area too and the staff were very helpful in picking out the right authentic Viking clothes to try on!
