Itinerary
You will see some of the Vatican’s numerous treasures, both artistic and historical, many dating back to ancient Roman times. There is a visit to the Gallery of Maps with its 40 amazing frescoes dating from the late 1500s and Raphael’s Rooms, four chambers that house works by Raphael and his students. You will see fascinating Greek and Roman sculptures as well as the sarcophagi of Empress Helena and Constantina, the mother and daughter of Constantine the Great. The tour will then move on to the Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Tapestries and Sobieski Hall.
You will then arrive at the Sistine Chapel, the venue for papal elections and one of Italy’s most popular attractions. You will view Michelangelo's vast fresco - 'The Last Judgment', and listen to stories from the Bible, including the creation of Adam.
Please note that entry is not allowed into St. Peter’s Basilica as it is closed in the evening. The finale of the tour is a stroll around St. Peter’s Square, lit by a myriad lights and sparkling under the night sky. In the piazza your guide will point out Bernini’s optical illusions and you will visit the exact spot where St. Peter, who later became the first Pope, was crucified. This area went on to become the foundation of the Catholic Church; an impressive place to end a wonderful evening at the Vatican.

Great all around tour - Tomaso was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. My kids loved it and we could have spent hours in the museum. Highly recommend! We saw and learned so much more than if we had just wandered through by ourselves.
Our private tour with Tomas was the highlight of our Italy trip! He was so knowledgeable and so easy to be around. 5 stars!
Francesco was informative and knowledgable. Our private tour was a treat. He did an amazing job explaining the pieces we viewed and was able to add in a brief tour of the Basilica. It was the highlight of our Rome trip. We highly recommend his tour.
Our guide was very Knowledgeable of the subject matter and even better in dealing with my wife whom is hard of hearing. Absolutely fabulous
Such a great experience having a private tour of the Vatican Francesco was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The evening tour was a lot less crowded than during the day, definitely worth it!
Claudia was amazing!!! We enjoyed the tour and the exceptional sights but the experience would not have been extraordinary without our guide!
We had a great experience on our tour at the Vatican. Giorgia was our guide and did a great job involving our whole family in the history of the Vatican.
Our family of four loved our tour of the Vatican with Angelica. Our children are 9 and 11, and Angelica was great about giving information the kids could understand. She tried to keep them engaged the entire time...and she was warm, personable, and knowledgeable. The Vatican Museums are annoyingly crowded, but that cannot be helped. Angelica took us to a few areas of the museums that are less crowded (to see past papal cars, for instance), which was a nice break from the mob.
