This tour uses 3D virtual reality headsets (Samsung/Oculus Gear VR). We recommend consulting a doctor before taking this tour if you are pregnant, elderly, have pre-existing binocular vision abnormalities or psychiatric disorders, or suffer from a heart condition or other serious medical condition.
Some people (about 1 in 4000) while they are watching TV, playing video games or experiencing virtual reality may have severe dizziness. Anyone who has had a seizure, loss of awareness, or other symptom linked to an epileptic condition should consult a doctor before taking our tour.
Children: It is recommended by the manufacturer that the headsets provided should not be used by children under the age of 13 (Gear VR). Parents allowing their children to use the headsets do so at their own risk and are fully responsible for the safety, health and well-being of their children. Adults should monitor children closely during and after use of the Gear VR for any decrease in these abilities.
A comfortable tour experience using our headsets requires an unimpaired sense of motion and balance.
Discomfort: Immediately discontinue use of the headset if you experience any of the following symptoms: seizures; loss of awareness; eye strain; eye or muscle twitching; involuntary movements; altered, blurred, or double vision or other visual abnormalities; dizziness; disorientation; impaired balance; impaired hand-eye coordination; excessive sweating; increased salivation; nausea; lightheadedness; discomfort or pain in the head or eyes; drowsiness; fatigue; or any symptoms similar to motion sickness. Just as with the symptoms people can experience after they disembark a cruise ship, symptoms of virtual reality exposure can persist and become more apparent hours after use.
Radio Frequency Interference: The Gear VR can emit radio waves that can affect the operation of nearby electronics, including cardiac pacemakers. If you have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, do not use the Gear VR without first consulting your doctor or the manufacturer of your medical device.

Great experience
Our guide was extremely helpful and a delight - she carefully guided us to each site while the VR told us about the prior use and history and showed us how life was.

Top assistance
I highly recommend this structure for the extreme availability of the assistants, especially ANAS who, with his greeting, his smile and his translations from Spanish into Italian, made our holiday unforgettable. Thank you Anas for your kindness. See you soon, the family of three with the "glutenfree" girl.

VR is a must for Pompeii!
Using the VR really helped bring the Pompeii experience to life. I travelled with 8 year old and 6 year old boys and they generally struggled to pay attention with traditional audio tours but the VR videos really kept them engaged throughout the 2 hours and couldn’t stop talking about it after we finished. Highly recommend this!
Operator response
Hi Anish! Thank you for the wonderful review. I'm glad the kids were happy and engaged throughout the tour. Was there anything we could've done better? We'd love to have your feedback.

Wow! Amazing tour with VR to see how Pompeii once was.
This was just about the most incredible tour experience I've had in my life. And everyone in our party agreed. Pompeii is so magical and this tour with the virtual reality really brought to life the ancient Pompeii as it once was. The VR is a brilliant addition. Our guide, Imma, was so sweet and knowledgeable. We got to see the all the main sites plus some off-the-beaten-path spots.
Flashback Journey to Pompeii, you made our trip! Thank you so much!

Great Tour
Our tour guide, Nina, was very good, but if you plan on going as a big group I would definitely suggest doing the VR tour as we did or get a tour which includes a headset. The city is super crowded and it was very difficult to hear at times.

My husband and I did this tour with...

My husband and I did this tour with our sons ages 11 and 14. We thought the tour was very informative about the Pompeii ruins and we thoroughly enjoyed the virtual reality aspect. My husband is a computer scientist and my older son plays a lot of video games. While they both wished the graphics could be better, we all agreed that historical recreations were an excellent use of virtual reality. It added a new dimension to what we got out of our time at Pompeii. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the tour in its current form and I look forward to what virtual reality will provide in the future. Our tour assistant was extremely helpful. She made sure we enjoyed our tour and helped us budget our time with both the virtual reality stops and our picture taking opportunities.
