Awesome whale watching experience!! Better than we expected. Our one friend is visually impaired, however we were able to hear the noises of the whales and the breath from their blow holes. The naturalist knew the area and whales and shared much knowledge. Beautiful trip and great staff. We will definitely do this again if ever in the area.
Firstly, the people were knowledgeable and lovely. The boat was smaller than I imagined and the snacks were merely a charcuterie board and nuts. The worst was we saw one whale ( maybe a second spout). Flame, the famous resident, spouted and showed her tail. It was very upsetting when I learned others taking merv and irv’s that day saw perhaps twenty… bubble feeding and breaching. As we spent, I believe, five times what they did, I was disappointed. We were there to see whales, after all. We saw more from the cruise ship… I believe it stems from thei means of locating them. They don’t have sonar or drones. They just drive around looking for spouts…

Well worth the money! Small group, professional staff, amazing experience! Shannon was so knowledgeable and Taylor found us two big pods of whales literally 25 yds away from each other! Both were bubble net feeding….the experience of a lifetime! The yacht was cozy & comfortable with delicious snacks & drinks that offered amazing viewing as well.

Kate picked us up in a very nice sprinter van and explained the area as we drove to the yacht location. Captain Buffy was amazing! Naturalist Abby was so full of information…a natural teacher. Kate, Captain Buffy, Naturalist Abby were more than we could ever hope for!! They had a beautiful charcuterie board, champagne and drinks for us. We were completely taken care of. What a fun and amazing evening of whale watching! The whales were bubble feeding! We saw a pod of 12! Then another pod of 9! Over and over again the whales would dive down then shoot up in another location! Such an amazing evening!! We highly recommend this team of knowledgeable professionals, who were also fun and engaging and showed us a once in a lifetime experience!

We were a three generation family of seven that had the good fortune of doing a Whale Watch tour with Alaska Luxury Tours in August of 2026. While some of our group had done whale watching tours before, the excursion with Luxury Tours was above and beyond anything any of us had experienced. From the skilled and engaging guides (Shannon and Jen) to the impressive yacht and delicious spread, we actually would have been content had we not seen any whales. Although we definitely did and from pretty close proximity. Bottom line, if you're going to go whale watching in Alaska, spend a bit more money and go with Luxury Tours. You won't regret it!

Our experience with Alaska Private Luxury Tours was top-notch and first class all the way! The pick up at our cruise terminal was super easy. The boat itself was spectacular...roomy, clean, so very comfortable (really, really nice restroom)...not to mention drinks, charcuterie, champagne! Whatever we wanted...they had it! We saw multiple humpback whales, and what made it even more fascinating was that Captain Abby and her crew knew many of them by name because these same whales regularly return to the area. Their knowledge of each whale and its behavior added so much to the experience. There is simply nothing like seeing the misty spout in the distance, then watching a massive whale rise from the water before gracefully diving and lifting its magnificent tail into the air. Today, we tookour Alaska Luxury Whale Watching tour and it couldn't have been better. First, the accommodations are First Class. Plenty of room and very comfortable. Our Driver, Mo,was fantastic. She picked us up from the port and drove us to where we would meet the yacht. Along the way she pointed out places of interest and gave us some history. When we gotta the dock, we were met by our Naturalist, Twain. He was great. So informative and helpful. He had so much information about the animals and surrounding areas. Then there was Capitan Jen. She knew right where to go and show us so many Whales. This team showed us the perfect excursion. My wife and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I would pay this price anytime I get service and an experience like this. Thank you Capitan Jen, Twain and Mo. You guys were fantastic!!
