Spend a day through the Chianti sweet hills. A wonderful Experience between art, wine and local food to discover vineyards, towers and typical farms. • Meet your driver escort at your Cruise Ship in Livorno and visit the tuscan countryside. • First stop to Volterra, for sure one the most beautiful viewpoint of the region. Free visit of the town (historic centre, Etruscan acropolis and the Roman theatre). • After Volterra we'll move to a real Tuscan farm, to understand the secrets of wine production and enjoy a lunch with home made pasta and 5 Chianti wine tastings included: (Chianti, Chianti Riserva, Sangiovese, Vernaccia) • After lunch we will visit the magnificent Towers of San Gimignano and the pictoreque historical centre, tasting the best "gelato of the world" (Gelateria Dondoli). San Gimignano is also known for its typical artisan shops and for the incredible panorama that surrounds it. • The return in Livorno port is scheduled at around 17.00 pm. We will pick you up at Livorno Cruise Terminal for a private and exclusive tour through the gentle hills of Tuscany. Our first stop is Volterra for a self-guided visit (approx. 1.5 hours). This walled hilltop city is one of Tuscany’s most enchanting towns, built on the site of one of the Twelve Cities of the ancient Etruscan civilization. After a delicious Tuscan lunch, continue to the charming medieval town of San Gimignano for a self-guided visit (approx. 1 hour) to discover its magnificent towers and historic streets. Known as the “Town of Fine Towers”, San Gimignano is a walled hill town near Siena. Absolutely fantastic day with Andrea as our guide to Volterra and San Gimignano with a stop for lunch and wine, balsamic and olive oil tastings in the countryside at an organic vineyard where the food and service were amazing and incredible views up to San Gimignano. The two towns visited are just breathtaking and the views on the drive were wonderful! Andrea was so friendly and knowledgable about the area (and all of Italy) and picked us up on time from the cruise port. All communications with him were clear and easy - a no stress day trip ! Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area
This tour is highly recommended. We arrived by cruise ship in Livorno, and therefore only had one day to explore the beautiful region of Tuscany. Andrea was an excellent guide—extremely knowledgeable and spoke very clear, easy-to-understand English. He first walked around with us in both Volterra and San Gimignano, showing us the main sights and explaining their history. Afterwards, we had some free time to explore the towns on our own. The visit to the winery was very enjoyable, with a delicious lunch accompanied by wine and olive oil tasting, all while enjoying a spectacular view. However, we did miss a little bit to having a guided tour of the winery with some insight into the wine-making process. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
Andrea, our tour guide was so fantastic. He was passionate and knowledgeable This was the most perfect day for my husband and I celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary! Andrea picked us up from our ship in Livorno and took us on a breathtaking trip to Volterra then to San Gimignano for a spectacular wine, olive oil tasting with lunch at the wonderful family run Podere La Marronaia winery!
