Private Beach Horseback Ride with Sandy Hoofs St. Lucia

My wife and I went to Sandy Hoofs in St Lucia October 2026. I rode Lucky and my wife rode Costca. We had a brilliant guide who was patient with us and we truly loved riding the horses. Unfortunately the sea was a tad choppy so we didn’t get to ride in the sea but the whole experience was amazing, thank you Sandy Hoofs. For anyone concerned, the horses are the priority of this establishment, you are weighed to ensure the horses are comfortable, the horses are very well cared for here along with their K9 companions who also came on the ride with us. Great experience, lovely few hours, shame about the sea, but it was very memorable.

From start to finish from booking via Tripadvisor, the whole experience was fantastic. It was really important to me that the horses were well looked after and at Sandy Hoo. The horses are living their best life. They are clearly well loved and looked after and I love the fact that that the horses have Sundays off to go down to the beach and enjoy their day off. I was lucky enough to have Stevan escort me, I was really grateful that I was able to enjoy the ride even though I was on my own. It was a very special Trip for me and the whole experience surpassed all my expectations and hopes I was a little concerned as it was 33° degrees but there was plenty of shade along the way and the heat didn’t really affect the amazing ride. The beautiful horses are so well cared for and well rested. We all loved going into water with the horses. The view coming down the hill to the beach was amazing. The location was on a long dirt road but once you get there you see a very cute cottage with clean bathrooms. And charming landscape. Malik was the best guide ! He was so nice and professional. He took good care that I was safe and assured me that the ride would be smooth and easy. I hope he goes far in the soccer world. He has the great spirit to make anything happen. Thanks Helen kolak

We booked the tour for my birthday with 5 of my family members. I weigh 237, and two days before we got a form to fill out to put your name and weight in which I filled out with the weight. The next day we get confirmation of our booking and a notice that says 220 is max weight. So, now I’m out, while my family gets a beach horseback ride. Kicking myself for not acting as soon as I got the notice, thinking, they have my form, surely they tell me of 17 pounds would make it so I can’t go. Bummed!

Great experience that was perfect for couples!

Hands down our favorite excursion in St. Lucia. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, and our guide, Alpha, was very knowledgeable and great with the horses. You can see that the horses are cared for by staff who love what they do. We were pleasantly surprised with how long and detailed the ride was, they really take the time to give you the best experience possible! We also loved that the tour is truly private with you and your group. Many excursions try to pack in as many people as possible while rushing through their itinerary, but this is far from the case when booking at Sandy Hoofs!

As a family of 3 non riders we were put at ease by our guides. I did feel anxious as our child has additional needs. I would highly recommend for all ages and anyone with additional needs, this was a unforgettable experience.

Myself, my husband and daughter with additional needs had a 2 hour private horse ride with 2 guides. None of us are experienced horse riders. We were put at ease and the horses were very gentle and looked well looked after This definitely made my daughter's holiday a memorable experience.

I had a great time with Sandy Hoofs! I had so much fun. I was nervous about riding a horse by myself, and the trainer with me made me feel really comfortable. It was a great experience and I will do it again next time I’m in St. Lucia.
