We were so happy with this tour! Our driver was professional and courteous, but also enjoyable to talk with. The stops were exactly where we wanted to go, and the flexibility to add an extra hour at the end was appreciated. We also liked the ability to arrange a guide at Pompeii to maximize our time there. We were picked up at our hotel in Rome for a full day tour of Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. The van was very nice and the perfect size for our group of 4 people. Our driver, Radu, was fantastic. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and the perfect tour guide. He kept us moving and on target with our times in each location so that we would be able to see all we wanted to see. Without anything but a voucher to verify it, our driver arrived at our B&B in a freshly polished SUV. For the next 12 plus hours, he skillfully navigated us to Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. He was friendly, helpful and full of knowledge. Patient too, as we were stuck in a traffic accident on the way back down the coast! We used the service for transfers to our cruise and airport as well. Just as reliable. Definitely much cheaper than other services but truly TOP NOTCH.
You have to book this company. Michele my wonderful guide took me to Positano and Sorrento from Rome on a day trip. I told him that I really wanted to spend all of my day on the Amalfi coast and he was wonderful. I saw Positano and Sorrento. And I even got to go to a little local lemon farm which was so amazing. We had a fabulous day exploring the Amalfi Coast and amazing Pompeii! Our driver was excellent and promptly met us at the port in a spacious and clean van. We explored Positano and the sights along the coast…but the best part was Pompeii. Stefano Rome Cabs provided an exceptional private guide of Pompeii for our group! Such a wonderful choice to do the private tour…Francesca was excellent. She brought Pompeii to life and we all were in awe of the amazing ancient city. Our driver Mauricio was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He spoke perfect English and explained all the highlights to us. The van was a new Mercedes sprinter. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. I have used Rome cabs before and already have them booked for our October visit to Italy.
Need only look at Stefano Rome Cabs for excursions, airport runs, and major places to see. Our flight into Rome was delayed 4 hours, but our wonderful driver was waiting for us. I pre-booked Rome Cabs for four rides during our vacation. We were a family of 5, all with large suitcases that had to take several long distance excursions. My husband did not want to rent a car (and after seeing how everyone drives in Italy, I am glad) so I knew I needed to find a transfer company that could accommodate all of us in one vehicle. I did not want to lug our suitcases or lose whole days by using public transportation. After searching on Tripadvisor, I found RomeCabs which had good reviews. I emailed them to ask if they would provide a service to drive us 3.5 hours from Rome to Urbino where my daughter was. They promptly answered (overnight due to the time difference) and I was pleased to find out that they could accommodate. I then also booked them for To and From Amalfi (with a stop in Pompeii). The company and every driver was professional. All the drivers arrived promptly and spoke English which allowed us to converse during our long rides. For our party of 5, we always received a Mercedes van. While taking a private car service is costlier, it took a lot of the stress off of us worrying about how to get from place to place. It also enabled us to get to our destinations in the shortest time possible while stopping to stretch/use the bathroom, whenever desired. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for any area they service in Italy.
