Our tour guide was not good. She seems like a nice person, but being a tour guide is not her strength. Not confident about the information she was putting out.
We toured with Oswaldo and loved him! He was funny, intelligent and it was the perfect length of tour! Couldn’t have had a better time!
Wealth of knowledge in a short period of time. Just enough to not be exhausted and overwhelmed yet satisfied in having seen and understand what Versailles once was. Our tour guide was geeat!! Sure crowds are a pain, but so is every other worthy site. We came in March and it was not as bad as summer.
Tour was really fun and informative. Great coverage of history and appreciation of the architecture of Versailles. The guide (Tiffen) had a robust understanding of the history of the castle and French Monarchy.
Excellent! Guide was knowledgeable, insightful, kind, and passionate. Highly recommend! Even with the crowds!
This was my 5th time here and by far the worst. I have had several tour guides and this one ruined it for us. They just spoke about paintings and were extremely annoying with asking questions from the group (which was way too large) and waiting forever for people to guess. We ended up leaving the tour half way through as it was so awful.
Our tour guide was awful. They had a background in art history so they spoke at length about specific paintings and painting technique and not about the palace or its history. It was so bad we left the tour after an hour.
Go early- get a private tour guide. Tour the gardens- lots of walking and standing… insane amount of time- go off season when crowds less likely. allow all day and take time to view the extra palaces…. extra ticket.
Versatile is an absolute must-see! Our guide was knowledgeable and bubbly and wonderful. The tour was packed which is both regrettable and understandable.
It was amazing- I had not appreciated how vast this place is. Make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes- you walk a long way. Long queues for a drinks and not much choice of rest opportunities to sit down-better to go out of the palace and get something there
