Fabulous tour with Yichen! Patient and knowledgeable, we left the tour with more understanding of these beautiful works of art than when we entered. I highly recommend Liv Tours for your European holiday - we’ve immensely enjoyed the 5 tours we have taken so far and look forward to our Florence tour!
Vivianne was an amazing tour guide, very informative and add touches of funny. She was so nice and took the time during each room.
Our tour guide, Laurent, was fantastic. He provided us a thorough history of the Louvre and its architecture and construction. His knowledge of all the artworks was impressive. We started on the sub-floor area that was discovered during the construction of the pyramid in the 1980’s. There we saw the remains of fort’s exterior walls built in the 12th century. We then saw the sphinx which led us to the famous Greek statues. The Venus de Milo is so beautiful and well presented. Laurent then provided us an excellent explanation of the Renaissance period as we progressed through various exhibits, including the Mona Lisa. We had no idea it took 16 years for Da Vinci to finish the portrait which had been commissioned by Lisa’s husband. Great history behind the story of the painting. We finished with a couple French Romanticism paintings by Delacroix. Liberty leading the French Revolution is a fabulous depiction of the struggles. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Laurent made it very special.
