In the 19th century, an area along Bayou St. John was reputedly the location of many voodoo rituals by Marie Laveau. The Magnolia Bridge over the Bayou continues to serve as a site for such rituals every St. John's Eve.
Your introduction to haunted burial ground begin at the gates of this cemetery built in the 1800s during the yellow fever epidemics as the city ran out of room to bury its dead. Everything was something else before it is what it is today. This famous burial location was once a lepers colony with a cemetery of its own. You might say it's a cemetery on top of a cemetery.

Tour guide made it great!!
Christian was AMAZING!!! Very formative, lots of knowledge and kept everyone entertained!! We really enjoyed this tour and learned a lot of history from him! Would highly recommend!!

Eye opener!
Tour guide was Christian, absolutely informative, fascinating, and theatrical. So much info packed in two hours. So much info I never knew in the perspective of a local. From tragedy to triumph this town is a world of its own and he helped us understand "why stay"? The Katrina memorial was heart wrenching. Just don't go during summer early fall we pored sweat outside the bus. And Morning call was Just what I needed to sober up thanks for that! Delicious bring cash only. And TIP YOUR GUIDE!

Cemetery tours
My husband and I have been to New Orleans since 2011. We had our honeymoon here in 2014 and been back several times through the years. This was the first time we did a tour. We did the cemetery tours with Christian and bus driver Perry. Christian was so informative and told us so many things I didn’t know. He kept high energy and enthusiasm. I would tell anyone it’s a great experience!!
