Irene was awesome and patient. We weren’t the most organized or easiest family to deal with but she adjusted for us. Would definitely recommend her for any tour.
This was a very practical way to visit Naples and Pompeii in a single day if you are staying in Rome. The express train to Naples and the regional train to Pompeii saves a lot of time and hassle. Going with a tour leader ended up being a very good move for us. Carmine was an excellent guide! He helped us navigate the travel, oriented us and led us through Naples, took us to some of the "can't miss" sites, found us some great pizza, took some photos, etc. Overall, he took all of the stress and planning out of the trip and just let us enjoy our time in Naples and Pompeii. We were lucky to have him. Overall, Italy on a Budget was a very good experience, and they were very responsive when I had questions. It was only about 2 days before the trip that we received our train tickets and last-minute instructions, but it proved to be sufficient. Also, it was a little weird that the instructions didn't quite match our experience. The email said "Upon your arrival in Naples, you will meet your tour leader at 9:00 am in front of the pharmacy Dr. Leone Roberto located inside the train station. He will be wearing a purple t-shirt with our logo." In reality, our tour leader was Carmine, he was not wearing a purple shirt, and he met us outside the turnstiles. But, no harm done. We'd go through this tour company again. Thanks, Carmine!
We had a great time visiting Pompeii and Naples. Our driver/tour guide was amazing and showed us many great places from Naples. We also had pizza from 50 Kalo! Best pizza of my life! We took us to an over look of the city. AMAZING!

The trip with excellent with the help and knowledge of Max. We was such an awesome tour guide that showed us from the most popular places to the local places. Introduced us to many different foods per his previous research. Definitely will ask for him again in my next visit.

Well organised, and a very helpful coordinator Francesco. Really comfortable journey with a bit of breakfast on the train . Our guide in Pompeii Felicia D, was really good and explained many aspects of the archaeological park that weren’t obvious just by looking. In the afternoon we did some wind tasting at a local vineyard and had a nice group lunch. Meeting some interesting people mainly from the USA. Felicia made sure we got on the right train back to Rome. The only tip I have is that the meeting place was hard to find, the cafe sign was very small and when we asked for directions no one knew where it was. All In all this was a really good trip put together by Italia Tours.
By train from napel central to pompei This went very well by train from platform 3 local railways Ticket cost 2.80 €
This was definitely one of my favorite places to go I Italy. Our tour guide was awesome and we had a great time. The only thing I would say is I wish we had more time to explore in Pompeii but other than that it was amazing.
As a solo traveller , I am glad that I joined it! Including me, there were 5 people in the group. Our guide Valentina took good care of us and she told us the history of Pompei, stories of Naples and a lot of information of local food and culture. She managed time well, making sure we could experience and see the most in limited time. In one day, we were able to visit both touristy and local unique spots, also we enjoyed great pizza together! I believe this would be hard to do all this on my own.
We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He showed up on time, was kind, caring, personable, knowledgeable and showed us a lot of great places in napoli. Including an introduction to deep fried Mac and cheese and amazing €5.00 pizza. He provided a bunch of interesting facts and really tailored the tour to what the 6 of us wanted to see and even gave us time to shop for souvenirs and snacks/drinks. In the end, he offered to show us the castle by the Marina and accompanied us in the metro back to the train station. Overall a great tour. Unfortunately we didn’t feel we had enough time in Pompei but that just means we have to come back!
My husband and I took the Pompeii and Naples Tour from Rome. The Pompeii was visit was very interesting, and you are given free time to roam on your own. Then our tour guide took us around Naples and gave us so much information about the city. He also took us to an incredible restaurant that served the best pizza and we tried a few appetizers that are local. We had a really great time and the group was small so that made it nice. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone... wear comfortable shoes. There is a ton of walking and the terrain at Pompeii is rough.
