Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Description
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer! This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program. The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience. All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Excellent experience!!!! Fantastic guides with a ton of interestimg information!!!
Awesome time with the dogs. Very exciting mushing trip. Absolutely love our time with the pups. I learned so much from our guide. Very friendly group of people that love what they do and it shows on their faces. I loved every moment of our time on site.
Enjoyed mushing our team and spending time with the dogs especially the puppies. Also learning about the Idarod history.
These guys are very knowledgeable and really love the pups and take great care of them.
AK sled Dog Tours was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. Getting to meet the dogs, learn about their incredible lives and passion for mushing, and experience their energy up close was simply amazing. The dogs are wonderful, the guides are knowledgeable and genuinely passionate, and the whole experience feels authentic, personal and incredibly well organised. Thank you DAN for everything!
Our guide was great. He was knowledgeable but more importantly he was enthusiastic about his job.
We had a great time learning about the dogs and seeing the puppies! We really loved driving the sleds!!
This was a great hands-on activity. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun! The dogs are very friendly, and you can tell, they are well loved by the staff. I would highly recommend this tour if in the area!
This was our first stop on a 5 day trip to Alaska and the experience set the bar VERY high for the rest of the trip. From the very beginning, months ago, as I planned the trip, this company was very responsive to my questions. When we arrived we were met by a staff member and immediately felt welcomed. We received a breif introduction to the kennel operations and the overall operation. Then we were introduced to "our" dog team and prepared to hit the trail. The guides clearly explained how to operate the wheeled trail cart and off we went. Safety was paramount and they had several guides amongst our group of 9 which included 3 teenagers and a 10 yr old. Afterwards we had time to meet and interact with more of the dogs, including puppies from this year's litter. I would not heistate to book this experience again and would gladly recommend it to my friends.
Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Dogs were great. The whole experience was excellent.
