Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a touristy set of eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako on the site of a former sixth lake that dried out several hundred years ago. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji that filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals. Even if the weather is unpredictable, you can have a very good day around Mt. Fuji. There are quite a few things to do.
Mt Fuji has its own weather system - Yani was able to coordinate so that we got a fairly clear view of the summit from the lakeshore park. He was also very knowledgeable and flexible as took us to some spots we suggested. Plus he is a safe driver which is a must! thanks Yani
We had an amazing experience touring around Mount Fuji area though it was a last minute booking, thanks to our tour guide, Serfy!!!! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the area. He made us feel welcome, answered every question with enthusiasm, and kept the tour fun and engaging from start to finish. The van was comfortable, spacious and with reclining chairs. His van was equipped with phone chargers 🔌 which was very convenient. He’s got sense of humor too! This was a private tour to Mt. Fuji and surrounding areas. Our tour guide Sarfraz “Sarfi” was exceptionally diligent in getting us the perfect Mt. Fuji view and it was a success! He was patient and provided us time to take pictures and shopping. He is well educated with Japanese history and stories. Japan should be proud to have this Pakistanis tour guide!
