A cultural trip that ended up being transformative
We had paid for the reservation online, but when they had already separated us and we were about to enter, they tried to charge us again. Since I was carrying the tickets and we could barely communicate due to the language, it was an uncomfortable and stressful situation. Furthermore, the online price turned out to be more expensive than the one there. Even so, the experience was deeply authentic. I felt vulnerable, not knowing what was going to happen, but I also experienced something almost mystical. On our honeymoon at 52 years old, I felt that I was leaving behind burdens of the past to face the new stage that awaits us with more strength.

Authentic hammam
Traditional Moroccan hammam. Immersion in an authentic hammam with a real full-body scrub.
Premises certainly dilapidated, simple but in immersion with Moroccans.
You should expect quite a bit of waiting during the treatments and no privacy; you remain naked in a large room where there are about fifteen of us.
The organization is basic.
Quality and firm massages. Too bad the hour of massage was not respected; we were only entitled to 45 minutes of massage due to a lack of organization.

High price for the service offered.
We decided to go to this hammam because of the reviews and we were unpleasantly surprised. The place is quite authentic and beautiful.
The woman who assisted us once inside charged us for the treatments we had chosen, was unfriendly, and seemed to be in a big hurry. She handed us a basket with flip-flops inside (they are not single-use).
To leave all your belongings, except for the bikini bottom, which is what we kept on.
The black soap is barely noticeable.
The woman who performed my cleaning seemed to be having a bad day and lacked enthusiasm. I have to say that the rest of the women who were there with my friends performed the cleaning with a good attitude; they were even singing among themselves.
When it came to drying, the towels smelled like they had been used by other people.
And well, the 30-minute MASSAGE I paid for didn't even reach 15 minutes. The rest of the time I was covered with the towel.
Just killing time to finish.
Upon leaving, we met up with the men who had been in the other room, and they were indeed satisfied with the hammam.
It seems like a high price to me for the service they offer.

Ultimate Moroccan Hammam Experience
I really enjoyed my experience at Mouassine Hammam. It’s nothing fancy or luxurious, but that’s actually what I liked about it. It felt very traditional and authentic, and gave me a real taste of the Moroccan hammam experience.
The scrub was excellent and left my skin incredibly smooth. The ladies were very nice and welcoming, and the argan oil massage was really relaxing and enjoyable.
It may not be what you expect if you’re looking for a modern or luxurious spa, but if you appreciate authenticity and a traditional experience, I would definitely recommend it. I’m glad I chose to experience it!

Wonder
It is a very good experience, no luxuries at all but the women are wonderful, they give you a scrub that you will never forget.
And when they all start singing while washing you, it is beautiful.

An authentic hammam experience to do.
Authentic experience far from sanitized spas.
Yes, the place is old and a bit dilapidated, but after a few minutes, a warm welcome.
Scrub and clay service that makes you feel light and, above all, an exceptional massage without any fuss.
You just have to be comfortable with nudity, but no voyeurism was felt and you cannot have a couple's experience.

Very beautiful experience
A very beautiful experience! The traditional hammam is an excellent way to discover an authentic aspect of Moroccan culture. A change-of-scenery, warm, and truly different experience from the more touristy hammams. I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to discover Marrakech differently and experience an authentic moment.

Do not expect to find a relaxing experience
Do not expect something relaxing or an experience of comfort and relaxation. Quite the opposite. The tension is constant because you do not know what is going to happen at any moment. There is a moment where they lather you with soap, pour water, and use a horsehair mitt, the rest of the time you think you are abandoned in a Colombian prison.
They do not even let you wear a swimsuit. You have to enter in your underwear.
