Montserrat Tour with Winery Lunch & Exclusive Cellar Experience

Well she really changed the entire experience. While the transportation to and from was not small group she managed to make it an incredible experience with her personal touches ..

The only feedback I have is the meal part. I was hoping it was something that represent the local food. Also needed coffee after that bus ride. Everything else was absolutely magical. And would do it again. And recommend it to others!

Our family group of seven took the Castle Experience Wine Tour to Montserrat. It is a full-day trip, and what a wonderful day it was. The key parts of the day were all excellent: the sites, the food and wine, and our guide, Mariana. Montserrat itself is hard to describe. The monastery sits high against the jagged rock peaks, and the views on the way up are worth the trip alone. The interior of the basilica is stunning. We also had free time to explore on our own, which was a nice balance to the guided part of the day. Lunch was also a highlight. The three-course meal was delicious, and the wine tasting that followed was generous. The winery was a relaxing setting for the meal, and the grounds were beautiful. The most important part was the guides. On the way to Montserrat and on the trip back to Barcelona, they shared the history of the surrounding area, and their entertaining delivery made the facts memorable. Once we reached Montserrat, our guide Mariana was the key. She is a Barcelona native, and it shows. She was friendly, funny, and patient with all of our questions. She gave us a wonderful background on the history of the region and a local's perspective on Catalan life, the kind you cannot get from a guidebook. As tourists, we are fortunate to visit a beautiful region like Catalunya, and insights from locals like Mariana help us appreciate the experience. Between the sites, the meal, the wine, and the guides, this tour is well worth the cost. If you want to learn about a place, including its people, its customs, and the emotions behind it, I recommend a guide like Mariana.

We had a wonderful experience on our Montserrat and winery tour. The staff were very courteous and welcoming throughout the day. We usually don’t enjoy excursions that involve travelling in a large coach, as they can sometimes feel noisy and the commentary can be a bit overwhelming. This time was completely different. The commentary during both the outbound and return journeys was genuinely interesting, entertaining and funny, which made the travel time enjoyable. Once at the destinations, the visits were done in small groups, which we really appreciated. Although Montserrat was covered in fog during our visit, we still enjoyed discovering this unique place. The winery visit was one of the highlights of the day. The atmosphere felt authentic and relaxed, and the small-group format made the experience even more enjoyable. Our guide, Yerai, was excellent — very knowledgeable about wine, engaging and funny. He explained everything clearly and made the tasting both informative and entertaining. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and memorable day. The combination of well-organized transportation, small-group visits, knowledgeable guides and a relaxed atmosphere made this tour stand out from other excursions we have taken. We would definitely recommend it.
