Then, enjoy free time to explore on your own. You'll continue towards a beautiful boutique winery, and you are in for a treat! The cellar also happens to be a 10th century castle owned by the same family for 36 generations with magnificent views of the mountain you just visited. Discover their revival of ancient local grape varieties, which provide a unique glimpse into the region’s rich heritage. Savour traditional flavors with a light tapas brunch or enjoy a multi-course traditional lunch at the winery (depending on the option selected). After that, learn about the wine-making process, and enjoy a wine-tasting session before traveling back to Barcelona.
Upon arrival, your guided tour consists of an extended visit throughout the Basilica and Monastery, with free time to explore the site on your own afterwards. There are many activities to choose from – you may want to see the Black Madonna, visit the Museum, make your way to the Holy Cave, ride a funicular to the top of the mountain, or shop at the farmer’s market. At the end of the visit you'll have the chance to attend a performance by l’Escolania de Montserrat, the oldest Boys’ Choir in Europe.

After Montserrat, head to the estate winery of Oller del Mas. Located in a castle dating back to the 10th century, the winery is home to 1,500 acres of land and a public golf course. Make your way into the restaurant, where you will be served a multi-course meal with wine. Following your meal, take a stroll through the vineyards and visit the cellar for a guided tour of the estate's wines. Learn about the production process and other winemaking secrets. Before heading back to Barcelona, enjoy a wine tasting session with three ecological wines. You will be returned at the end of the day to your original departure point. * Please note that l'Escolania does not sing on Saturdays, school holidays, and several dates throughout the year.

- Tours start at 8:30 a.m. Please arrive 20 minutes before the start time because check-in is required at our office before proceeding to the buses area.
- Groups are limited to 20 people per guide, though in rare cases may increase to 22. Transportation is shared with other groups.
- The tour is conducted in English.
- Comfortable clothes and walking shoes are recommended. Montserrat and the winery may have more extreme temperatures than Barcelona—check the forecast and dress accordingly. Bring water, especially in summer.
- The tour is not wheelchair accessible, but service animals are allowed. For reduced mobility, contact us before booking to discuss arrangements.
- Infants (3 years or younger) join free of charge but are not provided with car seats or meals.
- Dietary restrictions or allergies are accommodated without advance notice.
- We often work with boutique, family-owned wineries. Due to logistics, the winery may vary from Oller del Mas.
- Tour timings are approximate and may vary due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen events. We recommend avoiding scheduling other activities immediately after the tour to allow for potential delays.

We really enjoyed this tour overall. Montserrat was incredible, and the winery visit was a lovely addition that made for a great day outside Barcelona. The absolute highlight was our guide, Xavi. He was incredible—funny, entertaining, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly very well educated on the history and area. He kept the tour engaging throughout the day and added a lot to the experience. The coach was comfortable, although it was a little challenging to find at the meeting point. I would recommend arriving with plenty of extra time. Clearer arrival and coach-location instructions would make the start of the tour much easier. I’d also recommend providing more information in advance about the optional activities and additional costs at Montserrat. There are several things visitors can choose to do during their free time, such as the museum and audiovisual experience, and it would be helpful to know beforehand what is available, what each activity costs. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour, particularly for anyone wanting to get outside Barcelona, experience Montserrat, and visit a winery in the same day. Xavi made an already memorable destination even better.

It’s a 7-8 hours trip and when you sign up the wine tasting trip with tapas lunch, be prepared to be served around 2 pm. Our guide Xavi was knowledgeable about the history and wine. His team guides were wonderful too.

My family and I had one of the best experiences! Our guide Xavi was informative, kind, interesting, thoughtful, funny, and he made our experience so incredibly memorable. He explained so many things about the mountains, geography, history, and the significance of both Monserrat and the Black Madonna. After experiencing Monserrat, I also feel like I understand Gaudí a lot more now as well. After our tour at the mountain, we enjoyed our tapas and tasting experience where Xavi walked us through beautiful wines and explained the organic and natural wine making process so well. Although my fiancée and I have been to numerous tastings and we enjoy wine thoroughly- this was our grown daughter’s first tasting experience and he made it approachable and interesting for them. I can’t recommend this experience enough. It is more than worth the money; the memories made will last forever.
