This was the best part of our Barcelona vacation and an absolute MUST-DO, especially if you love wine and nature. It’s the perfect combination of both. The Black Madonna was such a special and unexpected experience for me. It felt incredibly spiritual\. When I touched the ball of her hand, I felt a warmth that reminded me of a mother’s warmth.It’s hard to put into words, but it was truly a unique and moving experience. And then the wine and food at Oller del Mas were SO good! 🍷 The beautiful surroundings, the sound of birds chirping, and being completely immersed in nature made it even more special. Set within a 10th-century castle, Oller del Mas is not a common winery – its superb ecological wines have earned plenty of awards in the recent years. In fact, one of its wines won the “Best Wine in Catalonia” award in 2018. But the cellar is not only special for its wines. You will take a stroll by the vineyards, learn how the wine is made, and discover all of its secrets. The winery has revived ancient local grape varieties, providing a unique glimpse into the region's heritage. *We work daily with different low-production, family-owned boutique wineries. Due to logistic reasons, you might visit another cellar instead of Oller del Mas.

A very interesting part of Spain
A great overview of Montserrat, our guide was quite the expert in history but also with his knowledge in wine it was a nice little finish when we got to do some wine/tapas tasting

Must see, unforgettable escape from busy Barcelona
Amazing guide Yerai was fun, knowledgeable, thorough. Absolutely beautiful landscape and awe-inspiring mountain range. So peaceful and unreal I felt like I was in a different world. The train ride up the mountain was a beautiful way to see the Catalan countryside. The monastery looks like it’s carved into the mountain. A trip to a winery in a 10th century medieval castle was a great ending to a perfect day!

Great tour!! Visiting Montserrat is worthwhile - the place is mesmerizing. Thanks to our guide Mariana, we had a great time even in the bus, she’s very charming and knows a lot about the place.

Learn from our experience...
Learn from our experience that you really need to pay attention at the tram up to the monastery. Our guide ended up leaving us by accident at the station. Long story short, the company gave us a bottle of wine for our troubles from the winery. I found this to be sweet. Our guide felt horrible about the situation, but the day turned out to be great. What a beautiful place. The lunch at the winery was homemade bread, chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The gravy was superb! Dessert was an almond cake that was yummy! Wine was great, the people were great and I highly recommend this tour!!

Had great difficulty...
Had great difficulty finding the departure location. The Barcelona Bus Station is the base for many tours but Via Tour should go into greater detail for foreign visitors that have no knowledge. We were misrouted by both our phone apps and individual s on the street. In short we were a few minutes late and missed the experience. We booked another tour that left 15 minutes later with Julia and I would recommend them highly.

Our guide Vince was amazing. Full of information and a great sense of humour. He also knows a lot about wine!!! His list of bars and restaurants and general Barcelona and Catalan knowledge was an added bonus.
