Materuni Village is located on the northern part of Moshi town. It is the last village before Kilimanjaro national park and it is only 15 Km from Moshi town. You travel on both a tarmac and rough roads. A moderate hike of approximately 40 minutes to beautiful Materuni waterfall with an English speaking guide. Along the way learn about local village lifestyle and enjoy the beauties of nature. Learn different types of flora and fauna. You will get a chance to test Chagga local banana beer in local bar. What to Bring on Materuni Village Tours:- -Swim suit (if you are interested in swimming at the waterfalls) Good walking shoes (you will be hiking) -Comfortable clothes for the trek (consider layers as the climate can change from cool to warm) -Camera -Jackets/Fleece for evenings, -Sunscreen & Insect repellent. It was an amazing experience 😍 Professional team and great company. The hiking tour is approximately 2*2.5km, but it is worth it at the end. I recommend it.

Great experience with Moana ! We did 2 days with them, visited Materuni waterfall with coffee tour on the first day and Chemka hot springs the following day. Everything ran smoothly, our guides were punctual, very nice and prepared. The food was great and for both experiences, we arrived earlier than the general crowd, this was a great plus! I highly recommend these guys, part of their income is used to run their NGO to give back to the community. You will be in great hands !

The day was more interesting than I expected. Scenic very beautiful and thanks to the great organization of Moana we could get a good impression of how the local people live.
Great tour with a great group. The guides of Moana know everyone in the area and were able to offer us a real "local experience". The waterfall is hard to reach and hard to find if you don't know your way around, so you need an organization. I can recommend Moana to anyone. Very fair and competent and at the same time always friendly.

Amazing, I arrived at around 8 at an amazing 'hostel' (you share the room with max 1 other person). The trip organizer, Gea is a really nice guy and accompanied me to an amazing club and made sure I had a good time. The tour and waterfall was amazing, though don't make the same mistakes as I made and bring your swimming clothes. He also took care of transport and made sure I had arrived at my destination safely. I would highly recommend going on this trip as it was amazing. Unfortunately I had to go back to work on Monday, otherwise I would diffenetly stayed longer.
