Recommended activity for half a day!
Beautiful waterfall.
Bathing in the waterfall was cold, but it was absolutely worth it!
Getting there early is worth it.
The coffee tour was interesting, even if the songs sung for the tourists make the whole thing a bit uncomfortable.
The coffee is delicious! In the end, the tour serves as so often the sale of coffee, cocoa and honey as well as souvenirs.
The food was delicious!

Materuni & coffee Experience
We had a great guide, Ally, who was a whiz with our iPhones as well as the trail to help us get really amazing photos & videos. The waterfalls were a cool respite at the end of a good mid-level hike. We were there in the wet season so that made for some muddy crossings to get to the waterfall. Then we had great fun at the coffee roasting and traditional coffee preparations followed by a generous portioned lunch with our hosts. A lovely day and different from the other days on safari.
Operator response
Dear our esteemed guests, thank you for your review. Glad to hear Ally your guide helped make your hike to Materuni and photo experience memorable! It sounds like a fun and unique day, with great food and coffee to top it off. Welcome Again for more experiences

Safari with friends and family
We loved the hike to the waterfall, lunch and coffee experience at Materuni. The hike to the waterfall may be challenging for some. Our guides Slyvester & Julius were great, and helped those in our crew that needed assistance. The banana soup was interesting.
My favorite part was the coffee experience; We went to the coffee tree and they explained all about the history of coffee. Then we peeled, and crushed beans, then roasted them, and then they proceeded to make us coffee. My brother in law does not drink coffee, He loved this coffee. Definitely worth the experience.
Operator response
That sounds like an amazing experience! Materuni sounds like a gem for hiking and coffee enthusiasts alike. It's great to hear that Slyvester and Julius were such helpful guides, especially on a challenging hike. And the coffee experience sounds fantastic - from learning about coffee's history to roasting and enjoying freshly made coffee, it must have been quite memorable. Welcome again

Hike and Make Coffee
It was raining, yet we still had fun.
Make sure to wear hiking gear because with the rain, it gets muddy and slippery.
We were led by Ali and team.
They took very nice pics and videos for us.
The coffee tour was educative with a coffee treat in the end from coffee powder that we made ourselves from scratch.
You can call ahead to request for lunch, which is made with a local touch.
They sell coffee beans to take back home from as low as 25,000 TZSH with less caffeine and 3 years shelf life.
Operator response
Dear Fridah, thank you for your five star review. We are pleased to learn that you enjoyed the whole tour with KLM Safaris. Thank you and welcome again for more experiences.

Beautiful day out and experience local food
Fantastic day out with our guide Augustino. Nice walk, beautiful views, authentic feel of the area and delicious food. We booked this tour after meeting Augustino in a prior tour (hot springs) and he was fantastic. Very pleasant, lots of knowledge and we got to try some local fruits from the area, on top of our planned traditional lunch. Highly recommended!
Operator response
Thank you Anna for your review during hot-spring tour. We are happy to learn that Augustino was knowledgeable and fantastic during your tour.

Highly Recommend KLM Safaris - A Memorable and Sustainable Experience
My partner and I had a fantastic time with KLM Safaris on the Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour. Our guide, Frank, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of the land and sustainability, thanks to his background in geography and the environment, really stood out.
Frank’s English was excellent, and he was kind and patient, never rushing us. KLM Safaris’ commitment to sustainability was impressive, making the experience even more rewarding.
For a tour that blends natural beauty with responsible practices, I highly recommend KLM Safaris. A big thanks to Frank and the team for an unforgettable day!
