Historically, the Toshogu appears to be the mausoleum where Tokugawa Ieyasu, the most powerful shogun in the country's history, was enshrined. Its historical importance and beauty have made it a UNESCO historical heritage site. Entrance Fee (not included) : About 1,600JPY
Established around the 8th century, the Futarasan shrine is the spiritual heart of Nikko. It is said that two swords, considered sacred treasures of Japan, are kept inside.
Considered one of the three largest bridges in all of Japan, in ancient times, the Shinkyo Bridge was considered a sacred area, walkable only by monks. Today marks the access to all of Nikko's sacred treasures.
