Our guide Teru was very knowledgeable about the Meguro district as we walked by the river he told us stories about the area. We were quite happy to see some cherry trees with blossoms on them this late in the season. Which was exceptionally nice as it was unexpected. We were also able to see the district center, the library, and then go to one of the famous temples Kichijoji Temple that was burned in a fire set by a young girl Yaoya Oshichi in love with a young monk and learn how to say a prayer properly. We also saw the sad place where she was burned at the stake for her crime of setting the fire which killed many people. If we were coming back when the new cherry blossoms were out for their short two weeks, we would take this tour again to hear more stories and see the beautiful peaceful area by the river. The guide will adjust the pace for the group, which is very nice.
We managed to arrive to Tokyo at the perfect time for Sakura season, but our walking tour did fall on a moderately rainy day. So, I was impressed with our guide’s commitment to making the best of our tour despite the weather. Nao kept our spirits positive, informed us about the beauty and reason for the season, and took us to some great stopping points for pictures. Even when the wind picked up on the last 15 mins of our walk, and our energy was draining, Nao made sure everyone stayed safe and wished us well as we departed from the end of the tour (Nao-san, arigato gozaimasu)! The Meguro River location is a great spot for viewing the sakuras, and on a sunny day, you can get some nice food from one of the many food stall vendors along the path.
Our Guide Nao was absolutely incredible. He was so welcoming and showed us all the beautiful scenery. He was also so easy to locate at the meeting point. Thank you so much for such a memorable experience.
It was great learning the history of the cherry blossom tree. Also Terry mention other history about Japanese which was great!!
Our guide, Terry, lives in the area so he was very knowledgeable about it. Very personable. We enjoyed the experience.
Great person, so friendly, most informative, best tour I’ve had never been to so many beautiful places, great laughs, and stories
Terry is the man for this tour. He knows a lot about nature and can answer any question you have about Japanese culture. He is smart, English proficient. I highly recommend Tokyo Terry aka TT. If you want to take a break away from all the city lights and noise, book this tour. The end of this tour is the icing on the cake, get your cameras ready.
Great way to see blossoms in mass flowing over a river. Also the information the guide gave about the area was very informable. Also he had a very good sense of humor and very personable.
I booked the river boat cruise for March 29 for our group of 5 - the company was KKday - they confirmed the booking and I paid the full amount for the experience. Within seconds I received an email stating they had cancelled the cruise and would refund the full amount within 10 working days - with no further explanation. A very poor experience and be wary.
HI, there! This tour you booked was completely different from ours. Our tour is walking tour not river boat cruise. In addition, we are not KKday. This is not our business. Thx best regards, Terry the rep
The information about Tokyo the guide I was able to provide. Also the hotel Gajoen Which we were able to see. Our guide with both personable and very knowledgeable about Tokyo and spoke excellent English. This tour may have well been the highlight of our trip to Japan
