Our guide provided a lot of interesting history of Madrid, Chueca and Spain but could have been more focused on current lgbtq issues and culture. Food lacked in quantity and quality. We expected more creativity. My food allergy was not addressed.

Chueca’s queer history, neighborhood bars, and tapas come together on this shared walking tour in Madrid. Visit four venues for at least eight tapas, drink pairings, and enough food and drinks for dinner, with stops including Madrid’s first gay bar and the oldest vermouth bar. Hear stories about the district’s past and present, learn local tapas customs, and take part in an Asturian cider-pouring class. Groups are capped at 10, and the experience welcomes all guests, including vegetarians, vegans, and non-drinkers.

We visit four of Chueca's best neighborhood bars to taste a variety of tapas & soak up its fascinating atmosphere. Each bar is unique so get ready to see a variety from the oldest in the district (105 years) to my secret modern bar that is so hidden that I know you have never been there before! Arrive hungry, we will have at least 8 Tapas, including many classics like: Spanish Omelet, Croquettes, Patatas Bravas, cheese, vegetarian options, & also some surprises that I promise that you never tried before. We are also going to do some drink and Tapa pairings. Whilst bar hopping, we'll tell you tales from Chueca's history, the origins of its LGBTQ past and present and let you into some of its hidden secrets! We even visit the first gay bar in Madrid. Do this early on your trip to Madrid becuase I will share many tips on how to work a Tapas bar, to get better value for money, some do's and don't's, and how to identify good Tapas bars, how to order, and finally the best bit... how to eat
Visit the oldest vermouth bar and discover why the Plaza and the area is called Chueca.
We will visit the outside of the first ever gay bar to open in Madrid and see the first political LGBTQ book strore.
Visit the best Tapas bar in between Chueca and Malasaña - famous for home made hand made croquettes.

Excellent tour, and Paul is an excellent knowledgeable guide, and happens to be very funny too! The vermouth was surprisingly good, and we enjoyed the tapas at Taberna La Buja, especially the tortilla Espanola!
Loved it! Small group and Paul took us to fun places in the neighborhood, and provided good background context without lecturing. It was great for our first day in Madrid to get the lay of the land and learn a bit more about tapas culture.
Paul is a great guide! He shared history along with hidden gems we would have never found on our own. Especially enjoyed the small group size and the attention to each participant - including ensuring everyone had plenty to eat and drink. Definitely recommended!
Had such a great time on this tapas tour! Paul and Juan were fantastic hosts and made everyone feel welcome from the start. The food was delicious, and it was a fun way to explore Madrid and meet new people. Would definitely recommend booking a tour with them!
Very fun walking the gay district and learning about the history of the LBGTQ+ community in Madrid. Our guide was very informative and friendly. Recommend this tour!
Paul, Ian, and Juan are such wonderful guides! Truly had the best time with them and would book any other trips and experiences they have! So knowledgeable and kind!

Great to meet you and thanks for a fun evening!
We had an excellent tour with Paul and Juan - they were so funny and insightful. We got a great understanding of the neighborhood and LGBT+ history in Madrid. The food we had at the stops were also fantastic and varied. Learning how to pour Asturian cider was an absolute highlight. Finally, they gave us thoughtful tips on places to eat, drink, and visit for the rest of our visit in Madrid which was incredibly kind and helpful.
Had a great time, it was a small group which made it special. Loved it. Our host Paul was very knowledgeable and gave a good history of lgbtqi Madrid
