Your tapas adventure kicks off in Plaza de la Villa, one of Madrid’s oldest squares. Start with a taste of the city’s rich history and its love affair with tapas!
We pass by Mercado de San Miguel, Spain’s first gourmet market, admiring its historic iron architecture and lively atmosphere from the outside. Due to its popularity and heavy crowds, we don’t enter, but it’s a great spot to learn about Madrid’s modern food scene.
La Latina
Next, we dive into the vibrant barrio of La Latina, known for its lively food scene and rich history. We’ll visit a hidden gem of a restaurant—tiny, with just six tables—famous for traditional tapas with a creative fusion twist. It’s a local favorite with a buzzing atmosphere!
Plaza Mayor
At our next stop, at Plaza Mayor, we’ll dive into Madrid’s rich history and food culture. Here, you’ll taste the city’s legendary garlic shrimp, sizzling and fragrant, served with freshly baked homemade bread and paired with white or red wine.
Puerta del Sol
We’ll wrap up our tapas adventure with a sweet local dessert near Puerta del Sol, one of Madrid’s most iconic landmarks. After your final bite, your guide will walk you back to the square and share tips for what to see next—or help you find your way home, full and happy!

Wonderful social experience of Madrid
Patricia was a wonderful tour guide. She took us to several tapas bars with wonderful food. The group experience was enjoyable. there was a lot of walking so be ready for more than a mile of uphill and downhill walking. Highly recommend.

Great Tour of the City and Culture
Mich was so knowledgable about Madrid and we learned so much more from the tour than we ever could on our own. He was pleasure to talk to and he took us to the perfect places and definitely knew his stuff. His drink and food pairings were amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Madrid, especially early in their trip.

Excellent food and lots of info - recommended!
An excellent experience! You not only learn something about the local food and drink, but also get basic information about the various aspects of the city. Food and drinks are more than enough, very varied and diverse, and of very good quality - you can tell that the restaurants and bars were chosen with love and knowledge. Therefore, highly recommended.

Madrid tapas delights and sights!
Our tour was with the lovely Patricia. There was only a small group of us so she was very attentive, made sure we were all in ear shot, and walking at a pace that suited everyone. All of the tapas stops were amazing - favourites were the eggplant and the shrimp specialty! You get a detailed history of Madrid and lots of information about the food and restaurants along the way. Highly recommend!

Exellent tour
Aafke, as our guide provided exellent experiance of local restaurants in Madrid. For food lovers this is exellent tour to take and explore local vibes while enjoying food and local wines in some of oldest Madrid restaurant.

Fun and delicious!
Great experience. Food was amazing, guide was friendly and knowledgable. Tour was pretty long, but fun and not strenuous, so definitely enjoyable. Great, would do it again!
