Description

This tour has been designed for travelers who want to discover La Gomera in a more authentic, comfortable and personal way, away from the crowded routes of large buses. The visit takes place in a small group, with a maximum of 18 people, and is normally guided by an official guide accredited by the Government of the Canary Islands, with extensive experience and deep knowledge of the islands. The route is not limited to the usual shopping stops. During the tour you will visit viewpoints, Garajonay National Park, rural areas, traditional villages such as El Cercado or Chipude and places where you can better understand the Gomera culture, its landscapes, its ancient trades and traditions such as Silbo Gomero. The goal is for the traveler not only to “see” La Gomera, but to understand it and live it for real.

Stunning La Gomera

We would highly recommend this way of seeing the stunning Island of La Gomera, have done it by coach a few years ago, and this was definitely a more enjoyable experience , Rasso was an excellent guide from start to finish, we stopped off at a new restaurant for lunch La Zula which was very nice ,clean and modern while enjoying the spectacular scenery ,100%worth paying a bit extra for a more personalised enjoyable day out

Beautiful Island Tour!

This trip was virtually a full island tour, showcasing the highlights of the island. We travelled all over La Gomera and have got to say it is a beautiful island and well worth a visit. We were taken to a lovely restuarant for lunch in the National Park which was not included in the tour costs but was extremely reasonable priced (priced by item ordered) and the food was lovely with large portion sizes. You could order exactly what you wanted and the menu was varied so I think most people could find something to eat. The only downside to this tour is that the tour guide was speaking in Spanish throughout the tour and then translating into English. However, it seemed that the Spanish were getting a lot more information about the island than we were. This could be due to maybe not knowing how to explain everything in English but it was a little disappointing. Overall though the trip was well worth it, and we all had a great day.

Professional introduction to the diversity of La Gomera

Very nice day trip with the certified guide Basso Lanzone. Unique VIP transport and very much learned about the island by the guide both about its history, geography, nature and culture. Meetings with the locals, the craft and tasting of traditional dishes in Laguna Grande completed the introduction to La Gomera. Basso knows the roads and people very well and gave us a safe feeling from the pick up in Tenerife. La Gomera surprises you after every turn. Basso knows the Canary Islands and the excursions like no other. Thanks for the valuable information and the nice time! One day we'll come back to see the starry sky.

Everything perfect!

Very beautiful experience. We received a lot of information and interesting facts. Basso is super prepared: history, geography, botany... He knew how to make the visit interesting even for my 15 and 17-year-old children. He speaks Italian, Spanish, and English perfectly. Always available to give explanations. Compliments!!!!

Surprisingly green!

It was a beautiful day trip by ferry from Los Cristianos to La Gomera. This island is so surprising with diverse vegetation and ecosystems depending on the altitude. The driver and guide were very competent. We got a nice picture of the origin of the island and the daily life here.

Operator response

Excellent overview of La Gomera

This was a wonderful way to see La Gomera. The group today was only small (4 of us + guide), the transport was very comfortable & our guide Basso was excellent. Basso was very knowledgeable as to how the island & its stunning scenery were formed. The different levels of ecological environments were well explained & how the people of La Gomera are endeavouring to maintain it. Lunch wasn’t provided but a stop at a small restaurant in the National Park was on the itinerary. Prices were not expensive & the food was good. You could try some local dishes if you were adventurous. The itinerary was varied & comfort stops had been planned in. The weather was fantastic - clear blue skies so you could see El Hierro, La Palma & Teide on Tenerife clearly. Basso was a little disappointed with it as with it being so good as we couldn’t really see why the environments had developed as they have. We thoroughly enjoyed our snapshot of La Gomera.

Operator response

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and detailed review! It was a real pleasure showing you La Gomera and explaining how its landscapes, ecosystems and traditions have developed over time. We were certainly lucky with the beautiful weather — perhaps a little too lucky to fully demonstrate the island’s famous microclimates! 😊 I’m very happy you enjoyed the small-group experience, the scenery and the local flavours. Hope to welcome you back again one day!

A great way to see La Gomera

A more private trip away from tourist traps and crowds. A relaxed way to see the life of the villages in La Gomera. Basso was a great guide, explaining everything at a gentle pace.

Operator response

Thank you very much for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed discovering La Gomera in a relaxed, more private way, away from the crowds and tourist traps. Basso is happy to share the real island, its villages and landscapes, at the right pace. Best regards, GetHoliday

Great tour but better directions to departure point required.

The tour itself was very good. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. The flora, fauna and general scenery were amazing. Our only complaint was with getting to the start of the tour. We were not on the hotel pick-up list and the directions link to the office were we were to meet the group took us to an empty lot several kilometers away from the actual ferry. While we left ourselves plenty of time to get there, by the time we could contact the tour operator and get proper directions we almost missed the ferry - literally 2 minutes to spare.

Operator response

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your review and for taking the time to share your experience in detail. We are very happy to read that you found the tour itself very good, that you appreciated the guide’s knowledge and helpfulness, and that you enjoyed the amazing scenery, flora and fauna of La Gomera. That is exactly the heart of this experience: to show the island in a complete, authentic and well-organized way, far beyond a simple transfer or a standard sightseeing bus tour. Our La Gomera small-group tour is designed for guests who want to discover the island with more personal attention, local knowledge and carefully selected stops. We focus on the landscapes, the laurel forest, the traditions, the villages, the volcanic origin of the island and the unique identity of La Gomera. The goal is always to offer a rich and memorable experience in one day, with a professional guide and a more personal rhythm. Regarding the meeting point and the start of the tour, we sincerely apologize for the stress you experienced. This is not the kind of beginning we want for our guests, especially when the ferry schedule is involved and timing is so important. Your comment is very useful, and we will review the pick-up list, meeting point information and map links to make the instructions clearer and safer for future guests. We are glad that, despite the initial difficulty, you were able to join the tour and enjoy La Gomera. We always work to offer a true 5-star experience from the first contact to the end of the day, and feedback like yours helps us improve the details that matter. Thank you again for choosing GetHoliday, and we hope to welcome you again in the Canary Islands. Kind regards, Basso GetHoliday

Good way to see La Gomera but not a VIP tour

The tour is a good way to see La Gomera in a day and the guide was knowledgeable. We thought the description of the tour being a "VIP" tour was a bit misleading and the maximum number of passengers was exceeded (there were 25 people on our tour). Given the amount of people the tour was slow and because we were the last table to be served at the restaurant we missed out on getting to do one of the walks. Would have been a good tour with less people.

Operator response

Dear Tamaranc44, Thank you for your feedback and for recognizing that La Gomera is a good way to discover the island in one day and that the guide was knowledgeable. We are sorry that the group size and the timing at lunch did not meet your expectations. Your comment is useful, and we take it seriously, especially regarding the rhythm of the day and the time available at each stop. Our goal with this La Gomera experience is to offer much more than a simple transfer around the island: we want guests to understand the landscapes, culture, traditions, local food and unique identity of La Gomera with the guidance of someone who knows the island well. It is a full-day tour with ferry, mountain roads, viewpoints, forest, villages and local gastronomy, so timing can sometimes be affected by logistics, ferry schedules or restaurant service. That said, we always aim to improve the experience and keep it as personal, well organized and authentic as possible. We appreciate your comments, and we will use them to continue refining the tour for future guests. Kind regards, Basso GetHoliday
