Kyoto-Nara Adventures Private Tour With Hotel Pick Up

Sanka, our driver and guide, was wonderful! He took us to many places in and around Arashiyama including the bamboo forest, monkey park, kimono forest, Otagi Nenbutsuji, and the Golden Pavilion. He was very kind. He was able to go at a pace suitable for my elderly mother, and he was patient with my 3 children. Thank you Sanka!

Writing Sanka was an excellent driver and guide. He explained each destination clearly and was always happy to help us take photos. He also gave us great recommendations for delicious restaurants that suited our budget. Even though the weather was extremely hot, we stayed enthusiastic throughout the trip thanks to Sanka's friendly company and support.

We had an amazing experience on this Kyoto tour. Everything was very well organized, and we visited some of Kyoto's most beautiful and historic places. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the history and culture in an interesting and easy-to-understand way. The schedule was well planned, giving us enough time to enjoy each location without feeling rushed. Transportation was comfortable, and the entire experience was smooth from start to finish. This tour was a wonderful way to explore Kyoto, especially for first-time visitors. Thank you to our guide and the team for making it such a memorable day. Aka the tour guide and driver took us to all day Nara tour . He was very good . Explained the history and all related stories to us . Recommended some great restaurant for lunch .

Our family paid $ 600 for a so-called "private tour" to Kyoto, Nara and Osaka with a Chinese speaking guide initially. The night before the trip, a guy called my cell and went over the schedule with me. He told me that only English tour was available. I agreed to have English tour. The next day, the driver who speaks almost no English arrived our hotel. There was no tour at all; the driver functioned like a taxi driver to send us from one spot to another spot, even worse than a taxi driver because we were pressured with timing. I had to communicate with him by translation software. He just waited outside the spots and I texted him the time to pick us up. By the end, we could not finish the scheduled spots. That was a disaster. I do not recommend this tour. We did not learn anything from the driver at all. We just came back to united states last night. We planned to complain to Viator directly to request partial refund!!

We toured Kyoto and the surrounding areas and temples through an amazing guide named SANKALPA. He was absolutely incredible! He knew all of the best spots to show us, the temples were all beautiful, full of history, very enjoyable, and the best places to take some amazing pictures! At the end of our tour, he brought us to the “shopping street”/market and it ended up being an great ending to our day tour. If you have a day to fill, I would definitely trust and recommend Sankalpa to show you around. He picked us up promptly at the train station and dropped us off at temples and waited for us to finish touring them before bringing us to the next one(s)! He also showed us a great spot filled with different restaurants that we could pick from for lunch! This is a full-day experience, and you will be walking a lot, so be ready for it and I hope you like adventure! Sankalpa was super friendly and knowledgeable!

Our recent family tour of Kiyoto was greatly enhanced by the excellent service provided by our driver, Mr. Thilina. His professionalism, friendliness, and expert driving skills contributed significantly to our positive experience. From the moment we started until the very end, the tour was well-organized, engaging, and filled with memorable activities that catered to both adults and children alike.

We booked three days with this company. Two days were to Kyoto and one day to Nara. Most of the tour was self guided except for Arashima Bamboo Forest where the tour guide shared some information. We are able to fully customize each day since we had young kids and elderly parents with us and they were very flexible. They also communicated well in terms of drop off and pick up at each location so we wasted no time finding our van. This service suited what our family was looking for which was mostly a transportation service.
