At Kyoto Sumo Club, enjoy sumo history and culture with an authentic sumo-style meal and All-You-Can-Eat & All-You-Can-Drink. At the beginning, delight in a traditional Japanese dance performed by geisha in elegant kimono, setting the tone before the sumo show begins. The show begins with a traditional geisha dance, followed by live demonstrations of exercises, techniques, and sumo etiquette. Then, watch a best-of-three match between retired sumo wrestlers. You can also step into the ring and challenge a wrestler ※Challenger spots are limited; if there are too many applicants, participants will be chosen by lottery ※This is a fun, family-friendly show, not a real training session or tournament All guests receive a souvenir gift bag as a keepsake of their sumo experience. "Dec. 03 2025 New OPEN!!!" The wildly popular Asakusa Sumo Club in Tokyo's Asakusa district opens its first sumo show restaurant in the heart of Kyoto!!!! Immerse yourself in the world of sumo wrestling at the Kyoto Sumo Club. Begin with a traditional Japanese dance performed by a geisha in an elegant kimono, setting the tone for the sumo show. Watch live demonstrations of morning exercises, learn classic sumo techniques, and discover the essential do’s and don’ts of sumo wrestling. Then, enjoy a best-of-three match between retired professional sumo wrestlers. Step into the ring and challenge one of the sumo wrestlers. Challenger spots are limited per show. If there are too many applicants, participants will be selected by lottery. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal with Chanko-nabe (chicken hot pot), a traditional sumo-style dish. After the show, take home a souvenir gift bag, a perfect memory of your sumo experience.

- Please note that the Sumo Show is different from a serious morning practice tour or a sumo tournament. It is designed as a fun, family-friendly entertainment experience for both adults and children.
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts.
- The number of challengers for the Sumo Challenge is limited. If there are many applicants, participants will be selected by lottery.
- Vegetarian and vegan meals are available upon request, but must be reserved at least 2 days in advance.
- If your friends or family booked separately, please add their name or booking number in the comments. Please arrive together if possible so we can try to seat you in the same area
- Please inform us in advance if your group includes two or more infants under 2 years old.
- Infants aged 0–1 years can join free of charge for the Sumo Show.

Food was good but show was a bit long winded and boring- also bring a sweatshirt it is freezing in the venue
Dad,Mum & 15 year old daughter went to the 6 pm show. No Geisha dancing just Sumo. It was great fun, hotpot good beer cold. Announcer was very informative about Sumo and the 2 ex champions were very funny and approachable. 1 of your group is picked to go up and do a little Sumo in the ring. It's a great way to spend a couple of hrs cheering on your favourite wrestler.

We went there with my teenage children and we all enjoyed the show, both funny and instructive. The all-you-can-eat-and-drink meal was also a nice experience and the service super fast and reactive. We spent almost 3 hours there and didn’t see the time pass! Excellent experience for an affordable price.

One of our favorite expressions in Japan! The show was informative and entertaining! Our son even got to try and wrestle! Can’t recommend enough. The chicken hit lot was also delicious! Even my picky eater enjoyed it.

It was so fun and over met our expectations! The dance ladies were beautiful and the sumo wrestlers did great demonstrations. Our 17 years daughter decided to challenge one of the wrestlers and she “won”! 😂😂😂. Highly recommend this show.
