Itinerary
One of the most iconic features of Kiyomizu-dera is its wooden stage, which juts out over the hillside, offering panoramic views of the cherry and maple trees below, as well as the city of Kyoto. The stage is supported by hundreds of wooden pillars, constructed without the use of nails—a testament to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The temple complex also includes the Jishu Shrine, dedicated to the deity of love and matchmaking. Visitors can try to walk between two stones with their eyes closed—if successful, it is said they will find true love. Kiyomizu-dera is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is especially popular during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. The temple's architecture, natural surroundings, and cultural significance make it a must-visit destination in Japan.
Explore Kyoto’s timeless beauty by strolling through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, two historic lanes leading to the iconic Yasaka Pagoda. These stone-paved streets, lined with traditional wooden shops and teahouses, offer a glimpse into Japan's Edo period. Capture the stunning view of the five-story Yasaka Pagoda towering above, especially enchanting during cherry blossom season or at sunset. Whether shopping for Kyoto crafts, enjoying local delicacies, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, a visit to Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and Yasaka Pagoda is a journey into the heart of Kyoto's rich cultural heritage.
Kinkaku-ji, or the Golden Pavilion, is one of Kyoto's most iconic landmarks. This Zen Buddhist temple is famous for its stunning, gold-leaf-covered exterior, which reflects beautifully in the surrounding pond. Originally built as a retirement villa for shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in the 14th century, it was later converted into a temple. The serene gardens surrounding Kinkaku-ji are meticulously designed, with pathways leading to tranquil spots offering perfect views of the temple and its reflection. Kinkaku-ji is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-visit for anyone exploring the cultural treasures of Kyoto.
Discover the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, a serene escape in Kyoto where towering bamboo stalks create a mystical, otherworldly atmosphere. Just a short walk away, cross the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge, which spans the Katsura River and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, especially vibrant in spring and autumn. Whether you’re strolling through the bamboo forest, renting a traditional rickshaw, or enjoying the riverside scenery, Arashiyama is a must-visit destination that blends natural beauty with cultural heritage. Perfect for photographers, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a tranquil retreat in Kyoto's lush landscapes.
Explore the spiritual wonder of Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto’s most iconic Shinto shrine, renowned for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates that wind through the sacred Mount Inari. This mystical pathway leads visitors through serene forests, offering stunning views and a deep connection to Japan’s ancient traditions. Dedicated to Inari, the deity of rice and prosperity, the shrine is dotted with fox statues, believed to be Inari’s messengers. Whether you’re seeking spiritual renewal or a breathtaking hike, Fushimi Inari Shrine is a must-visit destination that encapsulates the essence of Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage.

Thanks to Christine, a Very friendly and personable tour guide, good guidance and also small group unlike bus tour we get to explore and not rushed. The minivan is also able to get to the place very close. I would book again and recommend to my friends
To get to see so many famous highlights of Kyoto in a day is really amazing, plus super affordable. Thank you Ben he’s a very professional tour guide and even let us explore these places on our own.
Yujiro is very kind and knowledgeable. He guided us for a tour to Kyoto with 4 famous sightseeing spots, i personally love the golden temple, it is really mesmerizing. we had our free time as well in Arashiyama and decided to rent the kimono, the best choice I ever made!!!
I’d choose to do this tour rather than bus tour, small group of people, lots of time and no rushing. I really enjoyed our tour guide Christine who managed to handle 12 of us in this group, the minivan is very comfortable, we even made new friends too from the group. If you ever come to visit Kyoto, I suggest to book this tour, meeting point is also very easy to find, it’s just in Kyoto Station.
I really enjoyed the tour guide assistance and also even offered me to do Kimono experience in the bamboo forest, I would really recommend this to anyone who has only a day and wants to see the famous sights of Kyoto! The Fushimi Inari Shrine is a little bit crowded but it was so pretty to walk through the gates. Thank you so much, Ben!
Absolutely fantastic experience! Our family has been on many guided tours around the world, and it's so rare to find a tour like this one. Yujiro/Ben was full of energy, exceptionally well informed, and overall a wonderful tour guide! This experience was really well planned out, with adequate time for each activity and enough time to rest, hydrate, and plenty of opportunities to use the restroom. We got a ton of fantastic pictures, and were led to all the best photo spots. There was also a really good balance of a thorough guided tour and opportunities to explore on our own. We had such an amazing experience with this tour, and would highly recommend for anyone looking for tours in the area!
We recently had the pleasure of exploring Kyoto with Ben as our private van tour guide, and he made our family trip absolutely unforgettable! As a family of four with two young daughters, we wanted a comfortable, engaging, and informative experience, and Ben delivered far beyond our expectations. From the moment we met him, Ben’s warm and friendly personality immediately put everyone at ease. He knew exactly where to take us, the perfect timing for each stop, and the best spots for beautiful family photos (which we now treasure!). His deep knowledge of Japanese culture, history, and local traditions was impressive—he had thoughtful answers to every question we asked about Japan, and he shared fascinating insights that made the sites come alive for both the adults and our girls. Ben’s clear, excellent English made communication effortless, and his professional yet personable style kept the whole family engaged and comfortable throughout the day. The private van was a perfect choice for us, allowing us to travel relaxed and efficiently without any stress. If you’re visiting Kyoto, especially with family, I highly recommend Ben. He’s knowledgeable, attentive, organized, and genuinely cares about making your experience special. We left feeling like we had a true friend showing us his city. Thank you Ben!
