Itinerary
Begin your day at Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of Kyoto’s most iconic Shinto shrines famous for its thousands of tori gates. Upon arrival, your English-speaking guide will give a short introduction to Shinto beliefs, the meaning of Inari worship, and the historical significance of this site. Guests who wish to learn more can join the guide for a deeper walk through the tori pathways, or choose to explore freely.
Next, visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple; a UNESCO World Heritage site with a wooden terrace offering panoramic views over Kyoto. Founded in the 8th century, this temple is famous for its architectural ingenuity and its role as a place of pilgrimage. After an initial explanation by the guide covering the temple’s history, Buddhist beliefs, and cultural importance, guests may either walk with the guide through the temple grounds and adjacent historic streets of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, or enjoy free time for personal discovery and photography.
we will pass by Nijo castle. The guide will explain about the castle and history.
After, you will go to Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), a stunning Zen temple covered in gold leaf that reflects beautifully on its surrounding pond. This site embodies aesthetics, Buddhist spirituality, aristocracy during the Muromachi period. Your guide will provide historical context and insights into the Ashikaga shogunate, which commissioned this remarkable structure.
From there, head to Ryoan-ji Temple, home to one of Japan’s most famous Zen rock gardens. Here, the guide introduces the principles of Zen Buddhism; the idea of emptiness and contemplation, and how the garden invites personal reflection. Guests can choose to join the guided explanation of the garden’s design and philosophy or sit quietly and experience the space in their own way.
The day’s final major stop is Arashiyama, a scenic district known for its natural beauty, including the Sagano Bamboo Grove and the tranquil Togetsukyo Bridge. Upon arrival, the guide offers a brief overview of the area’s cultural and historical significance. After this, guests are free to walk through the bamboo groves, explore nearby shops, or relax by the riverside at their own pace, with a clear meeting time and place set for departure.

The experience was amazing. Kanta was an extraordinary guide throughout. He knows a lot about Kyoto and it was a privilege to be guided by him. He was absolutely helpful, clever and filled with empathy and respect. We recommend this tour and in particular this guide with no hesitation.
I had an amazing experience on this tour in Japan! Everything was very well organized, from the itinerary to the transportation and activities. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We got to see beautiful places, learn about Japanese culture and history, and experience some things we probably would not have discovered on our own. The tour was a great balance between sightseeing, culture, and fun. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan. It was a memorable experience and one of the highlights of my trip!
A great experience to visit the main attractions of Kyoto in a short time and with the comfort of a private bus. Our guide Marisa was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Don’t use this agency. They do not reach out, are not organized, and difficult to reach. The tour guide was not at the meeting spot. Nobody reaches back out to you there despite numerous messages. The tour guide only got back in touch after escalating it a whole 1 and a half hours after they supposedly left. You can get a taxi for less than the cost of this tour to the same places and take your own time.
Very nice tour. Kanta knew a lot about Kyoto and it was nice to learn more about (the new generation of) Japanese. Good tour to visit all the highlights in Kyoto in one day.
A good a nice tour, given by an enthusiastic and fine guide
