Authentic Instruction from Domyo, Founded in 1652 An experienced instructor teaches the traditional Nara-gumi technique from the basics, so first-timers can join with confidence, and you'll take your finished strap or bracelet home. A Craft Made World-Famous by the Film Your Name Kumihimo became world-famous after appearing in Your Name (2016) (this workshop is an independent Domyo program, not affiliated with the film). It's a rare chance to experience the technique and culture that has captivated fans worldwide. A Special Venue: Kujokan, Tokyo National Museum Held at Kujokan, a historic building on the museum grounds not normally open to the public — it will be specially opened just for this workshop. Offered on just five days (October 28 and 29, November 17, and December 17 and 18, 2026), this is a rare chance to spend a quiet hour immersed in traditional Japanese culture within this historic space.
