Tokyo Traditional Kintsugi Workshop in Asakusa Gold Repair Art

Description
This activity is unique because it blends hands on artistry with deep cultural meaning. You won’t just repair pottery you’ll learn the Kintsugi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfections, using real urushi lacquer and gold powder to highlight the cracks rather than hide them. Guided by a skilled Tokyo artisan in a peaceful Asakusa studio, you’ll create a one of a kind piece that reflects mindfulness, renewal, and Japanese aesthetics an experience you won’t find in ordinary craft classes.

Deceptive booking- the pottery “included” in the price is a cheap soy sauce dish you wouldn’t want to waste your time on. I’m fine that there’s an upcharge for a nicer piece but nowhere is that mentioned. And $35 for a plate I could buy off the street below for $1 is highway robbery. Experience itself is calming and enjoyable.
We had an amazing time making chop sticks, Mai was incredible, really friendly. Highly recommend!.
Nice experience with sweet staff.
We had such a lovely experience at this pottery class! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and everything was explained really well. Our instructor, April, was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful throughout the whole class. She made the experience fun even for beginners and was always there when we needed help. We really enjoyed creating our own pieces and would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun and creative activity. Thank you, April! 😊
Our guide April was very helpful and knowledge about Kintsugi and the history of it. She was very helpful in guiding us step by step the whole process. This is my second time coming back because the studio is nice and great
