We highly recommend this unique Alaskan experience. There is so much to see along the way to the glacier. We were blessed with whale breaching very close to our ship. Tour quite was very knowledgeable and South East Alaska passionate. The captain was approachable and whale savvy. Two things: We could use benches (chairs) on upper decks. Please… Harbor booking fees are quite steep. (Are we being punished for booking direct with the operator?). There are none when one books with TripAdvisor.
Saw lots of wildlife. The day was a success! The captain was awesome, we were slightly late but he waited for us! We weregrateful
Great boat nice and clean Friendly well spoken host (Mya) Captain Dan did amazing job located numerous whales for our enjoyment. He also was able to get us very close to the glacier for prime viewing of the glaciers and seals.. extra side trip for special bow presentation of a serene waterfall❤️
Excursion of extraordinary beauty (you don't go to Tracy Arm because the fjord is closed due to last year's tsunami, but to a fjord further ahead). The sunny day made everything more enchanting. The guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. The captain was super helpful about making stops. The only downside: the very high price and the truly poor meal (also considering the price).
Excellent experience. It was bright and sunny on the day of the cruise, so we were able to see into the mountains and enjoy being on the decks. Wear multiple layers! The Captain was superb, and was on the lookout for wildlife the entire cruise. Since it was the last week of July, we were able to see between 11-14 whales and had a chance to stop and observe them. Otters and sea lions were throughout the cruise. The naturalist was very informative, without being overwhelming. Since Tracy Arm is essentially closed due to a potential rock slide and tsunami, we went to Endicott Arm and saw the Dawes Glacier. We witnessed multiple large calvings. We did a quick stop to The Terror Wilderness area where the captain pulled right up to a waterfall, then a beautiful ride back to Juneau. The captain spotted a bear up high on the mountain and stopped so we could all observe. One of the best experienced we enjoyed while in Alaska.
Certainly a highlight of our Alaska trip. The glacier is Incredible and on the way to the fjord we saw whales, orcas and dolphins ! We loved it !
We had the best time. The crew was very friendly and super knowledgeable about the wildlife, geology and the glaciers. We saw pods of humpback, orca and porpose. We also got to see harbor seal and a sea otter. Super trip. I can't recommend it strongly enough!
It's a VERY long day with hours of travel time down the passage and fjord to get to the glacier and back. The scenery to and back is similar to that you'll see on your ship with the additional sightings of whales and seals. The glacier is beautiful, just be prepared for the travel time on the boat. (Which is comfortable)
This was amazing and one of my favorite experiences to date! Be prepared for a LONG day! It’s so worth it but come prepared with warm clothes, snacks and maybe some sort of activity for the ride back! The glacier was amazing! The icebergs were breathtaking! The captain did a great job of slowing down and letting everyone see the sights! We stopped to watch whales, seals and orcas! The naturalist provided great info along the way! Would highly recommend with the caveat that it is a long day but such a cool way to experience SE Alaska!!
Amazing trip. Beautiful. Captain and crew great! Always travel with Tru Alaska tours when in Alaska
