Description

Explore Juneau’s incredible coastline on this small-group kayaking adventure through the beautiful Mendenhall Wetlands. Keep your camera ready as you glide past eagles perched in the trees, harbor seals resting on the rocks, and maybe even a curious sea lion or porpoise swimming nearby. From your kayak, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind view of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier, visible from six miles away as it winds through mountain peaks. This tour is intentionally limited to no more than 8 guests, creating a quiet, intimate experience. Unlike other tours, each guest paddles their own single kayak , allowing for better control, comfort, and opportunity to explore. (Double kayaks available on request) You’ll be fully outfitted with a high-quality dry suit, keeping you warm and dry in all weather conditions. Our experienced local guides provide hands-on instruction and support throughout the tour, making this adventure ideal for first-time kayakers as well as those with prior experience.

We had the best...

We had the best experience. The water was so calm. You wear a dry suit that definitely keeps you dry. We kayaked with another family who were wonderful people. Our guide was so awesome and positive, Jordan. She was a wealth of information. She told us where to eat and try seafood fries, aka trash can fries so good. The brewery, Devils club who was recommended to us by friends who had come last year. It was such a perfect day and experience.❤️❤️

Excellent!

Jacob was our guide and made this trip really fun! The setting, on the water fronting Mendenhall Glacier, was magnificent! We saw seals, otters and eagles, got a great paddle workout on the water, and met some wonderful people along the way. This was a great trip and I highly recommend Paddle Juneau LLC for small group paddling around Mendenhall Glacier.

Best Alaska kayak tour ever

Jacob and Jordan are both so fun and incredible tour guides! This was the best Alaska kayak tour we could have asked for. They told us so many fun facts about Juneau, and even had snacks for us :) thanks guys!

Get away from the hustle and bustle!

This is a great tour to get away from the cruise excursions and have a more personal experience. Jacob met us at the Plaza wearing a “Paddle Juneau” hat and sign. We traveled a short van ride to the near by lake were we got our dry suits and headed out kayaking- were able to see a Bald Eagle and a seal! Learned a lot about the surrounding community and land formations. Highly recommend!

Leisure Paddle

Our guide Jacob was super friendly, engaging, helpful and fun to talk to. We were the only people on the tour. The paddle is scenic and we saw many eagles and a seal. We did not find the paddle strenuous and in fact would have enjoyed more of a physical challenge. A reminder you are not paddling on Lake Mendenhall and you see the glacier only in the distance. Mountain range views was amazing.
