Our summary of the 100 most recent reviews out of 601 (May 2024 – Sep 2026), collected by Viator and Tripadvisor.
Most travelers praise guides who turn Irish whiskey history into a funny, lively show, and enjoy leaving with a mini bottle of their own blend. Those expecting a serious blending class are disappointed: the mixing is brief and uses only the tasting samples.
Over half praise the guide's humour, energy and storytelling; Andrew, Lydia, Linda and Tiernan are named most often, and several say the guide made the whole visit.
Many say they finally understood how Irish whiskey rose, nearly vanished and came back, told through themed rooms, and value that the museum is not tied to one distillery.
Mixing the tasted whiskeys into a personal blend and pouring it into a mini bottle is a favourite moment, and the bottle fits in carry-on luggage.
Reviewers describe an interactive format where the guide talks with each guest, invites questions and adjusts language for non-native speakers.
Partners who do not like whiskey and complete beginners say they still enjoyed and learned from it.
Some found the blending short and limited: you mix leftovers of the same few standard whiskeys you just tasted, often not enough to fill the bottle with the ones you liked.
A handful who had done distillery tours felt it was short, touristy and not worth the price, adding little beyond what they already knew.
How we make this: we read the most recent reviews and sum up what travelers say again and again, good and bad. It is our summary, not a review; the reviews themselves are further down this page. Updated Oct 2026.

Several non-drinkers who came along with partners or friends say yes, because the history and the guide's delivery carry the visit. The museum also sells entry without the tasting.
It is a short, playful finale rather than a technical class. Most enjoyed it, but a minority felt it was just mixing the same few samples they had tasted.
One guest with back trouble reports seating throughout and a lift instead of stairs, and another mentions accessibility help being offered during the visit.

Linda told us the history of Irish whiskey in a very lively way. The subsequent tasting was a lot of fun.
Thank you for your kind review! We're delighted you enjoyed learning about Ireland's rich whiskey heritage. We hope your visit was a memorable one, and we'd love to welcome you back again.
Informative and entertaining experience. We learned about the history and method of making Irish whiskey, followed by a very pleasant tasting,
Immersive tour with a lady (I don't remember her name, sorry) who spoke and presented very well! Several rooms and a tasting at the end. We took the VIP version and we got a free whiskey glass and an extra tasting. But we are giving it an average rating because it was quite short and we still felt it wasn't worth the price :/
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the immersive experience and that your guide made the tour engaging and enjoyable. We're sorry, however, that you found the tour too short and didn't feel it offered the value you were expecting. We appreciate your honest feedback and will take it on board as we continue to improve the experience.
Lydia took us on an Irish whisky tour and was so informative, friendly and great craic! The themed rooms were great, and the blending experience was very tasty! Worth the money for sure! Thank you, Lydia!
Andrew was an amazing tour guide. He explained everything with enthusiasm and you could feel how much he enjoys his job. Learned a lot and had a great time as a family. The mixing was cool and you could even take the remaining whiskey home in a jar provided by them.
Jameson experience is better with mixology class after tour. Lady instructor needs microphone. Sat very close and hardly understood a Word.
I think I was expecting more of a hands‑on blending session—something closer to the Jameson Black Barrel blending experience. Instead, this one was about an hour of history followed by roughly ten minutes of mixing different branded whiskeys to demonstrate how some retail blends come together. If you’ve already been on distillery tours, you’ll get a bit of additional combined history, but in my opinion it’s not worth the price of admission. The staff were very friendly; it just wasn’t the experience I thought I was signing up for.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience didn’t match your expectations, particularly regarding the hands-on blending element. We understand how this comparison with other distillery experiences could influence your view, and we appreciate you explaining this clearly. We’re glad to hear that you found our staff friendly, and we’ll be sure to pass that on to the team. Your comments about the format and value are also noted and will be shared internally for review. Thank you again for your honest feedback.
Fantastic!!!!!! So fun and informative. An emersive experience where everyone participated! Engaging!
