Nature Reserve Cerro Blanco is a 6,078-hectare private reserve of tropical dry forest on the ecuadorian coast, located in the chongón colonche mountain range at km 16 on the road to the coast. The largest lung and the best-preserved remaining extension of dry forest in guayaquil Biodiversity Our natural wealth lies in having more than 700 species of vascular plants; 20% are endemic to the tumbesian region in southwestern Ecuador. More than 54 species of mammals, 24 species of bats, and more than 240 species of birds have been recorded we are also home to 22 species of reptiles, 8 species of amphibians, and much biodiversity yet to be discovered and studied. The fauna has endemic representatives, some of which are globally threatened, such as the jaguar, saffron flyfish, grey-backed hawk, and the Guayaquil parrot, among others.
