Greenwich Village Haunted Tour

Description
Haunted Manhattan offers the most accurate—and FUN—ghost tours in the city! On our Greenwich Village tour, a secret underworld of ghosts and ghouls reveals itself as you’re guided through the streets by "noted professor of anthropology & the supernatural," The Professor. The Professor will guide you to 13 haunted locations, from Washington Square Park, a former potter's field and now the beating heart of the Village that seems to host multiple famous spirits (including a ghost dog!), to the former home of Mark Twain that may also hold malevolent spirits, telling you tales of haunted dorm buildings, churches, fire houses, theaters, and more along the way... A historical, hilarious, and completely hair-raising experience, Haunted Manhattan will show you the greatest city there is, like you’ve never seen it before.

Itinerary
Strange shades running by late at night...a ghost dog...the spirit of one of America's great people of letters...spectral insurrectionists...and then, of course, there are the very real bodies still buried here...
Though it's now an academic building at NYU, restless spirits seem to still inhabit the site of one of our nation's worst industrial disasters over a century ago...
This notoriously haunted building is apparently home not only to the spirit of Mark Twain, but at one time played host to malevolent spirits, responsible for 27 deaths...or more...
...we visit 13 haunted locations in all, but we can't list them here—then you won't be surprised!

Experience: Spooky and fun without being scary! There was a great mix of ghost stories and history-made-fun, and our “Professor” guide was awesome—funny, knowledgeable, engaging, and kind. He really brought the stories and history of Greenwich Village to life. Admission fee: Very reasonably priced for 90 minutes of entertainment. I felt we got a lot for the price. Length of visit: About 90 minutes, which was just right—long enough to be entertaining without feeling like too much walking. Atmosphere: Fun, relaxed, and appropriately spooky. The tour had a great atmosphere without being frightening. Crowd size: Our group was small, which made it easy to hear the guide and stay together throughout the tour. Staff: The “Professor” was fantastic! He was an excellent teacher and storyteller, and his humor and kindness made the experience especially enjoyable. Best for: Adults, families, and older kids. The walk was easy and manageable for any age, and although our group was all adults, I think older kids would really enjoy it too.
We had such a great time on the Haunted Tour of Greenwich Village! It ended up being just the two of us on the tour, but our guide was absolutely wonderful and still gave us the full experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made all of the stories really interesting and fun to listen to. We learned so much about the history of Greenwich Village along with some of the darker and more haunted stories connected to the area. We really appreciated that even with such a small group, our guide never made the tour feel rushed or awkward. It honestly felt like we were getting our own private tour! It was such a fun way to explore Greenwich Village and see a different side of New York City. Definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoy history, ghost stories, or anything a little spooky!
It was a great time! Our tour leader was fun, engaging, and knowledgeable.
Exactly what we aim for! Thanks for joining us!
What a fabulous evening! The Professor is entertaining and super knowledgeable about the history of New York. He spoke of historical figures who spent time in this part of the city - and perhaps never left. I recommend this tour highly for tourists and locals alike!
Such kind words, thank you! So glad you enjoyed your time—we hope you can check out the other haunted areas of NYC soon on one of our other routes!
The Bartender (believe her name was Charlie), was absolutely awesome! The tour was fun and very informative. The Bartender keeps you engaged and she really enjoys what she does. Highly recommended for people looking to do something a little different and learn some NYC history.
We had lots of fun, I especially enjoyed the historical side of the stories! Or guide was engaging and entertaining!
My tour with Professor Clerval on Tuesday night was enjoyable, fun, lively, spooky and just the right length of walking! Our guide was hilarious, and showed us some really cool sights in Greenwich Village. He had a lot of very silly/funny jokes, and involved the crowd in really great and innovative ways throughout - especially the teens on the tour. Highly recommend this for folks of most ages (some of it may be a lil too spooky for the younger set). What a lovely and charming way to spend an evening in the city!!
So much fun, so fun for spooky season, lighthearted but history was accurate! We had the best time. We went with friends and family, not too scary for all ages.
The professor was engaging, entertaining and edifying—an enjoyable, lovely night all around! This is a highly recommended tour.
Great tour with history, poems, famous buildings, and supernatural stories told by a well spoken and wonderfully interesting tour guide.
