We'll then visit the historic Washington Mews, one of the few remaining cobblestone streets in New York City, rich with fascinating history.
Explore the iconic Washington Square Park, and grab a picture of the Washington Square Monument and Fountain. We'll delve into the park's fascinating history, which began as a public graveyard before being developed into one of New York City's most popular destinations.
We'll walk down MacDougal Street and pop into Mamoun's Falafel where we'll try some of their mouthwatering handmade falafel. These hot, crispy, and flavor-packed Middle Eastern balls are guaranteed to be the best falafel you've ever had in your life.
We'll stroll past the iconic Comedy Cellar, a beloved New York comedy club that has been graced by the performances of legendary comedians like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Jerry Seinfeld.
For all Taylor Swift enthusiasts or 'Swifties', our tour will include a visit to 23 Cornelia Street, the site where the famous popstar used to live back in 2016.
Our Greenwich Village food tour wouldn't be complete without stopping at Bleecker Street Pizza. They were voted as the #1 pizza in NYC for three years in a row and they offer a taste of the city's renowned pizza culture, allowing you to savor some of the most iconic slices in one of the most popular pizza spots in the Big Apple.
This ain't no Chipolte or Tacobell! Our next stop is at the one and only Little Taco House. This tiny hole in the wall offers big flavors and serves up a taste of Mexico with authentic made-to-order tacos.
Our tour wouldn't be complete without a quick visit to Carrie Bradshaw's Apartment made famous in the TV series Sex & the City.
Our next stop is outside the very popular 'Friends Apartment'. This unique stop offers fans the chance to take a picture of the iconic apartment from the beloved TV show. So grab your lobster and take a happy snap!
Next, we’ll stop at Faicco’s Italian Specialties to try one of Italy’s most famous street foods: arancini. These crispy, golden fried rice balls are served with homemade marinara sauce. We loved Alex! She was knowledgeable on both the neighborhood and the food (which was delicious)!
A great description of the history of the areas along with many details on the goofy. Meri was a fantastic guide.
Meri was fabulous. Knowledgeable, easy going, interesting, and kind…made me feel like I was walking around with a long time friend.
Meri was amazing!!! So much fun and so much food. What a great way to start our NYC adventure
Meri will be glad to hear this. She packs a lot of food into the Greenwich Village food tour, so starting your NYC trip that way was a solid plan. Come find us again when you're back in the city.
This was such a fun experience and a great way to explore Greenwich Village! I really enjoyed the mix of delicious local food, interesting history, and walking through the neighborhood. It felt like much more than just a food tour. Meri was an amazing guide. She shared lots of interesting stories about the history of Greenwich Village and what the area is like today. You can really feel how much she loves NYC, and her passion made the tour even more enjoyable. Thanks to her, I became a big fan of Greenwich Village too! The food was also fantastic, and there is a lot of it — definitely come hungry! If you are visiting NYC and want to enjoy great food while discovering the neighborhood, I highly recommend this tour!
Thanks for writing all of this out. Meri really does love this city, and hearing that her stories turned you into a fan of the neighborhood is about the best thing we could hope for. You're right that people should come hungry, we'd rather send you home full than wanting more. If you're back in NYC, we'd love to have you on another Greenwich Village food tour.
Merri was a wonderful tour guide. She was so knowledgeable and entertaining. The food choices were great. Such fun! We are native New Yorkers and it was such fun to have an international group.
Julie, thanks for the kind words about Meri. She'd like knowing that native New Yorkers still found something new on the Greenwich Village food tour. The international groups do make it more fun, everyone brings a different reaction to the same plate of food. Come back and eat with us again sometime.
David was a wonderful tour guide. He was so informative and gave a great tour of what we were seeing. We were able to see lots of neat stops we would have never otherwise seen in NYC. The food stops were also all very good with a nice variety.
Thanks, Laura. David knows the corners of the neighborhood that don't show up in guidebooks, so it's good to hear those stops stuck with you. Getting the variety right across the food stops takes some fiddling on the Greenwich Village food tour, and we're glad it worked. Hope to see you out with us again.
Rebecca was great! Great food options and very cool site seeing. Definitely will look to do more food tours
Ryan, glad Rebecca showed you a good time and that the food and the sights both landed. There's a lot packed into a few blocks on the Greenwich Village food tour, so it's nice when someone notices the neighborhood as much as the eating. If you're up for another one, we've got a few other neighborhoods waiting.
Rebecca was delightful and we loved our experience! The food was a great mix and all delicious. The added stops and history she shared were great and added to the experience. Would definitely recommend!
Really nice to hear, thank you. Rebecca has a way of working the history in without it feeling like a lecture, and the mix of food is something we fuss over on the Greenwich Village food tour. Glad the extra stops added something rather than just filling time. We'd be happy to have you back out with us.
Alex was amazing!!!! So informative!! Great pace and great food!!!
Alex will be happy to hear this. She's good at keeping the pace right, which matters more than people expect when you're eating your way through a few blocks, and it sounds like the food kept up its end too. Come back for another Greenwich Village food tour when you're in the neighborhood.
