Amazing
What a great experience. Without our guide, amazing Rose we wouldn't understand the importance of Duomo complex, historical and architectural. Beside the Duomo story and story of Brunelleschi the architect she teaches us the history of Florence so I have to say big thanks and to Rose and to the Agency.

Just average
Vanessia was very knowledgable but went too fast and was hard to understand when she wore her mask.

This tour was very poorly organized!
The organization of the tour was very unsatisfactory.
1) The tour was booked for five people. The local guides only had the for 4 people. Tickets bought. We still had to pay 150 EUR on the spot.
2) The tour was booked with a German guide so that our children (8, 10, 12) understand everything. Unfortunately, the guide could only speak English (the guide was very nice and competent, unfortunately it didn't help the rest of the family)
3) He was advertised as saying we don't have to queue. Unfortunately, this was not right either. We had to line up at the back and then stood in the sun for 1h.
4) Booked was a combination ticket with tower and museum. Due to time constraints, our guide could no longer accompany us.

Operator response
Dear Mr Ralf, thank you for your review. I do speak German, but I prefer to answer in English so that the major part our public can understand what I am answering to you. It is really unfair what you say. You booked 2 tickets instead of 5 (no reduction after 3 years old kids for this tour). We wrote an email to you and asked you to buy another 3 tickets, as the children were mentioned in the notes of the reservation but you bought no tickets for them. As you did not answer, we come to the meeting point and gave you the tickets we had (Dome was of course already fully booked): 2 additional tickets that we had with Dome and 1 additional ticket with Bell tower (all we had by chance). you paid euros 150,00 on the spot. It means 50 euros for each of the ticket, even if you should have paid euros 95 per each additional person. We made a discount of euros 135,00, as our German guide was not available that morning, due to a small accident she had had. The American guide Michael was with you and did the tour in a perfect way: Cathedral, Crypt, Baptistry and Museum. Bell tower is not supposed to have a guide, after the tour you have 72 hours to climb up the bell tower at your own pace. He also occured to find the 3rd Dome ticket, so that everybody could climb the Dome at the end of the tour. I suppose you should thank us for all the great support we gave you for 5 people with only 2 reservations! As far as the heat is concerned: sorry, Florence is very hot in Summer, we can help you with bad booked tours, but we still have no power on the weather! Have a nice day Susanna

Avoid!
Excursion to avoid at all costs with this tour operator. We did not visit the cathedral baptistery, as was planned in the tour, as the guide felt that the queue was too long. We spent 19 minutes (watch in hand) at the running pace in the Opera del Duomo Museum. The guide who was in charge of the tour spoke a VERY approximate and sometimes even totally incomprehensible French. Finally, we climbed to the top of the Duomo, without any comment from the guide on the fresco that adorns the monumental ceiling of the cathedral, yet rich in arts and history. Very disappointed by this visit which did not meet our expectations. We made a complaint to the tour operator who did not even bother to answer us.

Duomo in February
Andrea was a great tour guide. Saw fabulous views from the top of the duomo, learned about the architectural history of the duomo, then onto the museum to see more of the original sculptures & Ghiberti’s magnificent doors and finally to the Baptistry to wonder at the beautiful mosaics.

Great company for a great tour
Scheduled a tour for the Duomo, which included the tour for the Battistero and the museum as well as the ticket for the bell tower, and it was a treat. Our guide, Giovanna, was excellent. Throughout the tour, on top of sharing the history of the Duomo and all of the artists that worked on the multiple projects of this great monument, she added a few anecdotes about Italian expressions, inter-city feuds and why the bread in Florence isn't salted. If you like guided tours, I strongly suggest scheduling it with Giovanna.

A disaster
Paying 45 euros for a guide to tell you what you will see while waiting in line is not worth it, when you hire a guided tour you are not supposed to be doing the same hours waiting to enter.
