Fun and interesting experience

Fun morning to spend as a family and an interesting experience for both adults and children. Architecture of place is beautiful too. Not too busy and good value for money spent.

FORGOTTEN FRENCH

A perfect staging, very well documented, a lot to see but you absolutely must speak English (very little information in French while other tours are very good in French) to get an undoubtedly excellent experience out of it...

A fun and very interesting space to understand Dublin

The space is very instructive and intuitive, the demonstrations are very well represented and we feel immersed in the represented environments. The museum is very big and there is a lot to learn from the exhibitions, explanations, and interactions. We loved the experience.

The tour was better than the museum

The museum itself was hit-and-miss. Interesting in places, with frustrating lack of detail in others. I particularly would have liked more from the third floor -- the idea of unearthing history amid modern construction is fascinating, but it was essentially reduced down to "this artifact was found on ____ street", without much indication *how* it was found. So three stars for the museum, but another star added in for the fantastic walking tour included with the price of admission. My advice (as an adult traveling alone) is to show up a bit before 11 and treat the walking tour as the main attraction and the museum as an added bonus, instead of the other way around.

Nice activity for a rainy day!

I work as an AuPair and was looking for something to do with the kids on a rainy day. I saw that Kids go free in August (Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday) so I just had to pay my own Ticket. The kids enjoyed it very much, because it was not just a normal “museum”. It was history with activities that the kids could do (try on clothes, …) We were walking around in the Dublinia for about an hour, but I’m sure you could stay there even longer. The staff was nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere was exactly like expected. You do really dive in into that experience. We went on a Monday morning, so it was not that packed, which was good for the kids!

Informative and a bit gory for some kids

Fair warning- a bit scary for kids. I have an imaginative 8yo who loves all things history and folklore and she was pretty freaked out by some of the scenes (human slaves and people dying of the black plague). I appreciated the details and how Dublinia showed how archeologists work. But it is graphic for some kids

Entertaining & educational.

Cute with plenty of information. Heated towards kids but the adults also enjoyed it.
