Description

Dresden, beautifully set at the river Elbe, is one of Germany’s most wonderful cities, with the famous porcelain-like, baroque architecture dominating its silhouette. Fittingly, the capital of Saxony hides a grandiose history of princes and kings, but also its fair share of tragedies. On our tour, we will present you with the history of the city and its current lively face. We will be sure to make you understand how the Germanic organization merged with Slavic hopeless romanticism to form one of a kind Central European fusion. Please note that booking this tour you will be joining our general pay as you wish tour (tour in which it is up to the guest how to reward his or her guide). In this case the amount you pay covers the reservation fee and the guide's payment. If you wish to join a smaller, private tour let us know and we will organise it for you!

Bummer

We got informed wrong about the start of the tour, and that’s why we missed our chance to participate.

Dresden Walking Tour

The guide was wonderful. Her name was Kasia and she did a great job taking us around and pointing out places of interest. If I do another tour here I will definitely ask for Kasia to be my guide.

The guide, excellent work. The language of the tour, purchased for French, well, it was in English!

Group too large.

The group was too large. I didn’t choose to push to the front to hear what the guide was saying. We stayed far too long at seemingly lesser significant sites. A general walking tour of the city would have been better. Lots of requesting for a tip.

Dresden highlights

My family enjoyed this 2hr tour. The area was explained well by our guide Katia and we had the rest of the day to go on our own.

The tour was excellent....

The tour was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable. However, there was confusion as this was also a “pay what you wish” tour for everyone else (we were the only Viator guests). We resolved this with the guide, although I don’t believe this was disclosed to us when we booked the tour and the first time this occurred for us on Viator. Net result is that we ended paying 3-4 times what everyone else paid for this tour…….. Viator should be more transparent about this arrangement so that customers can make a more informed decision.
