Description
Experience Yogyakarta's essential cultural treasures on this half-day private tour, perfect for first-time visitors seeking an efficient introduction to the city's royal landmarks and traditional crafts.
Begin at the magnificent Kraton, Yogyakarta's Sultan's Palace founded in 1755 and still serving as the Sultan's residence today. Explore exquisite pavilions, courtyards, and museums displaying royal heirlooms and ceremonial artifacts. Your guide explains the palace's symbolic architecture and royal customs.
Walk to enchanting Taman Sari (Water Castle), the former royal pleasure garden built in 1758. Wander through ornamental pools, underground tunnels, and meditation chambers featuring unique Indo-Javanese architecture.
Conclude in historic Kota Gede district, the former Mataram Kingdom capital and Yogyakarta's center for traditional silver craftsmanship. Visit artisan workshops to observe skilled silversmiths and browse authentic batik workshops before returning to your hotel.

You should see Jogjakarta with Ditto as your tour guide!
Ditto gave us a tour of the palace, and I loved the fact that he was happy to accommodate our desire to see certain other things, eg he took to a Luwak coffee place to see the process and try the coffee, and a Batik place to witness how a Batik cloth is made.
Last but not least, he gave us further recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try in the city.
Operator response

Thank you for this great feedback! Delighted Ditto showed you Yogyakarta with such flexibility and passion. The Luwak coffee and batik workshop are exactly the kind of authentic experiences we love to offer!
His local recommendations are always precious. We'll pass on your compliments to him!
